A spacious retreat on a beautiful Gloucestershire site, this lakeside holiday home is perfect for one or two families together or a multi-generational group. Sleeping nine guests across four bedrooms, the three-storey cottage nestles on a nature reserve at Somerford Keynes, 6 miles from Cirencester and 4 miles from the picturesque Cotswolds. Make the most of the extensive, on-site leisure facilities and activities, or get out and about in the wider area. Discover the pretty villages, magnificent walks and exciting cycle rides of the Cotswolds. The North Wessex Downs National Landscape, 15 miles away, also offers an array of beauty spots for days out. Any children in your party will adore spending time at the Cotswold Country Park, 1 mile away, where there is a beach and aquaventure course. While away an afternoon at the Cotswold Sculpture Park, the same distance away, with its fascinating works from across the world.
Arrive back at the property following each excursion to make yourselves at home in the chic, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Take a seat on one of the elegant sofas and lose yourselves in the views out over the lake. Slide the glass doors open on warm days to bring in a cool breeze. Pick up the remote control to the Smart TV and settle down to watch your current boxset. Amble over to the well-equipped kitchen to help the chef in your party whip up the next holiday meal, then set the table so everyone can gather round. There is also a useful WC downstairs. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all arranged across the top two storeys of the house. One of these is a super-king that has zip-and-link beds and can be made into a twin by advanced request; another is a bunk bedroom with a single bed above a double. There is also a family bathroom and a stylish double, which has an en-suite shower room and exceptional views of the beautiful lake. Another wonderful double bedroom, also with an en-suite shower room, is on the floor above.
Stroll out onto your private deck to recline on the outside sofa and absorb the views. Cook fresh produce on the BBQ, then dine under the stars. Bring your four-legged friend and take him for a long walk through the nature reserve. Try your hand at water sports, including paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing on one of the lakes. Hire bikes or scooters and head off to explore. Take a swim in the indoor or outdoor pool, or even in the natural pond. Guests can also treat themselves to wellness sessions, yoga and fishing. Charges may apply for some activities. Within the holiday park, there is a restaurant and a shop. There is private parking for one car.
