Dating back to 1727, this stylish cottage combines beautifully restored period features with everything you need for a comfortable Lake District holiday. It has space for eight guests, so an excellent option for a holiday with extended family or friends. You’ll be in the vibrant market town of Keswick – known as the UK’s adventure capital for its proximity to outdoor pursuits like rock climbing, paddleboarding, fell walking and wild swimming. The town itself has a pretty river running through it, along with a museum, a gallery, and all the shops and restaurants you’ll need, all within 0.5 miles. The banks of Derwentwater are also just 0.5 miles away, where you can hire a motorboat or tackle the spectacular 10-mile circuit around the lake. Keen walkers and climbers will be spoilt for choice, with Skiddaw (5 miles) and Blencathra (7 miles) providing rewarding challenges.

Step inside this beautifully presented home to a spacious kitchen/diner with quartz worktops and a Tassimo coffee machine for your morning brew. Your group can share sociable meals around the large dining table. Stylish tiling and underfloor heating run throughout the ground floor, which also includes the first bedroom: a king-size with an en-suite shower room with a walk-in rain shower and a WC. An impressive Georgian staircase leads to the first floor, home to a flexible twin bedroom that can be made into a super-king-size on request for an additional £15 charge. The lounge completes this floor, showcasing original beams and shuttered windows, along with three leather sofas and a wood burner for if you’re here during the colder months. Head up one more floor to find another twin bedroom, which can also be converted into a super-king-size bed for a £15 charge, plus another king-size bedroom. Both rooms enjoy high-beamed ceilings and lovely views, and are served by a contemporary shower room with twin sinks and a WC. Throughout the property, quality furnishings, solid oak furniture and luxurious linens add to the sense of comfort. A separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer makes longer stays more straightforward.

Outside, make the most of the large shared garden, with its spacious lawn, outdoor furniture for dining alfresco and play equipment for youngsters. You’ll have two allocated parking spaces along with bike storage available on a first-come, first-served basis (please get in touch to ask beforehand).
