An impressive, three-storey retreat, this contemporary Dorset lodge is set on an attractive site with lakes and a nature reserve. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom holiday home comes with its own private outside seating areas, as well as access to the wider grounds and shared, on-site water sports, plus an outdoor swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. Situated near Crossways, 6 miles from Dorchester, it is just 6.5 miles from the magnificent Jurassic Coast. Prepare a picnic and venture down to the National Trust’s Ringstead Bay, with its beautiful beach, rock pools and clear water. Explore the picturesque Isle of Purbeck, with its many beauty spots. Marvel at the dramatic limestone arch at Durdle Door, 9 miles away. Take time out to go snorkelling at picture-postcard Lulworth Cove, 9.5 miles away. Bring your walking boots and head out along a section of the scenic, long-distance South West Coast Path.
Wander inside to discover reverse-level accommodation with a chic, airy finish. At ground-floor level, you will find three of your beautiful bedrooms, two twins and a king-size. The king-size has the added benefit of an en-suite bathroom. There is also a family bathroom. The bedrooms to the rear of the lodge feature large sliding doors that can be pulled open to the patio on summer mornings. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which is partly double in height, encompasses the entire first floor of the property. With banks of glass and balconies to both sides, this gorgeous space is simply flooded with natural light. Slide open the doors during the warmer months, so you can enjoy indoor/outdoor living. Lay a fire in the Scandinavian-style wood burner on crisp autumn and winter days, so it throws an inviting glow across the space. Prepare hearty Dorset feasts in the immaculate kitchen, then sit down to lively holiday meals in the dining area. Gather on the plump grey sofa for movie nights in front of the Smart TV. The second floor of the retreat, where a mezzanine landing with a glass balustrade overlooks the living area, features two desk areas for those wishing to catch up on a little work, plus your final king-size bedroom. This splendid room has an en-suite shower room and features a large gable window with commanding views.
Choose whether to sip morning coffee on the balcony to the front or the back of the lodge. Pull a bottle of chilled wine from the cooler and sip it as you grill supper on the gas BBQ on the other balcony. Unwind with a cup of tea and your book on the sofa on the patio. Bring your four-legged friend and throw a ball for him on the grass, supervising him at all times as the garden is not enclosed. Stroll around the attractive site, taking in the lake views. Take part in on-site activities, including water sports at certain times of year. Guests can also enjoy the gym, heated swimming pool, sauna and other shared leisure facilities. Some sessions may need to be booked and paid for. There is parking for one car beside the lodge, with additional cars to be parked in the main car park.
