Surrounded by freshwater lakes, wildlife-rich trails and Dorset’s best-known coastline, this beautiful, three-bedroom lakeside lodge gives six guests a relaxed base for days out together, or even days in. Stay on the estate to swim from the private beach, hire paddleboards, or book lunch and a treatment at the on-site spa and restaurant. Dorchester, 6 miles away, is ideal for a family day out, visiting the Dorset Museum before exploring its vibrant shopping and eating complex, Brewery Square. Follow the coast above the crystal waters of Lulworth Cove for glorious views across Stair Hole, or while away the hours at one of the UK’s most photographed landmarks, Durdle Door (10 miles). Other beaches include Weymouth and Chesil Beach (both within 15 miles). For something a little different, head south to the Isle of Portland (19 miles) to explore its 16th-century castle and see the red-and-white lighthouse standing above Portland Bill.
This is a bright and stylish family retreat, which has been thoughtfully finished in a light colour palette and designed with sociable spaces for spending time together. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner forms the heart of the home. To the right is the fully integrated kitchen, featuring an induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, with an adjacent circular dining table for enjoying your meals. To the left is the dual-aspect lounge, which boasts an L-shaped sofa, a Smart TV and board games. Relax beside the wood burner on chilly evenings or pull open the large glass doors and enjoy the soft summer breeze. Subtle decorative details also nod to Silverlake Estate’s RAF history, and a Sonos speaker is provided for playing music. A cloakroom and small coat cupboard complete this floor. Your sleeping quarters are on the first floor. One of two king-size bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, while the second offers fitted storage. The third and final bedroom has bunk beds, which is a fun option for younger guests, and the family bathroom features a shower over the bath. A full-height landing with a cosy beanbag creates an additional quiet corner.
Step outdoors to be met with the south-west-facing garden, featuring a calming decked area, generous seating, and a BBQ for flame-grilled feasts. Completing the convenience of this holiday home is private parking for 1 car, with additional cars to be parked in the main car park.
