You’ll be hard-pressed to find a Lake District location more glorious than this one, with the impressive Coniston Water offering boat trips and unbeatable landscapes less than 500 metres from your doorstep. Simply step out and enjoy an abundance of walking routes on the surrounding estate and woodland or jump in the car to explore The Old Man of Coniston (8 miles) or Claife Heights (11 miles). The Cumbrian beauty spots of Windermere (14 miles) and Ambleside (13 miles) are similarly worth a trip out in the car, whilst Grizedale Forest (7.5 miles) is your go-to spot for thrilling adventure with its Go Ape! centre, hectares of woodland and foraging wildlife to spot.

Hidden amongst the trees in the owner’s private estate, this whitewashed property is a joy to behold from the moment you venture up the driveway. Enter through the shared entrance and step inside the private hallway to find plenty of space for hanging outdoor wear and an overflowing selection of books to be enjoyed throughout your stay. From here you’ll find both a walk-in shower room with WC and a separate WC with stunning feature wallpaper. Off the hallway is the master bedroom, a space that perfectly suits a romantic getaway. Matching the highbrow design of any boutique hotel, this super-king-size room has been decorated with a four-poster bed and contemporary freestanding bath. Completing this space is an en-suite WC. Venture back into the hallway and head down to the open-plan living space. A bright and cheerful room with a fresh and clean interior puts socialising all in one handy space. To one side you have a generous kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer with water cooler and a washing machine/tumble dryer. The owners have also thoughtfully provided additional extra touches including an espresso machine, slow cooker, juicer and an abundance of cooking equipment. Along with a sturdy wooden dining table, this room also offers a stylish lounge with cushy L-shaped sofa, TV/DVD, as well as plenty of games and books to keep you thoroughly entertained. An additional bedroom leads off the lounge, offering a quiet workspace with a desk or an extra sleeping area. The Emma sofa bed can be set up as a twin, suitable for 1–2 children or 1 adult. If you would like the sofa bed made up for your stay, please request this at the time of booking.

Step outside and enjoy acres of private woodlands and lawn space. Shared with the other properties on the estate, these gardens provide plenty of space to explore. You’ll also find a handy dog wash, shared between the two properties.

The area is beautiful. The property is lovely but not suitable for light sleepers as the floorboards creak. Great facilities in the apartment and it was all clean and fresh. The grounds were nice with access to a short lakeside walk and also up onto the fells to Beacon Tarn. We loved the area and will definitely be coming back up there.

Had a brilliant 3 night stay at Lake Bank. The location was ideal, not a long drive from anywhere, perfect for the dogs! Super comfy bed, clean cosy house!

We had a lovely weekend in this week equipped apartment. Comfy bed & plenty of hot water. It's a great location, just short stroll to Coniston Lake. Only minor niggles were that the WiFi was patchy at times & the walls are very thin (the floors are very creaky), but the neighbours were on a similar time schedule to us, so not a problem.

Ripplings was a great base to explore the Lakes. We really enjoyed our stay there. Lovely, homely feeling to it and really well equipped. Hard to find a decent place that accommodates multiple dogs and this ticks all the right boxes. Will definitely be back. Many thanks

We couldn't use the en suite between 9pm and 9am because it was a saniflo and makes a loud mechanical noise when used whuch would disturb other guests tgatcwere staying in one of the four units which made the en suite pretty much useless to us, apart from that it was excellent! Very comfortable bed and looks recently refurbished.

Good apartment in great location. Proximity to lake was great for our dogs, as was large lawned area. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great, key things for good holiday accommodation! I would recommend this lovely apartment but not if you are hoping to be able to walk anywhere. A car is necessary as there are no obvious paths to the nearby shops or pubs. The apartment has quality touches with a nice outdoor space plus a great selection of DVDs.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic location. Very close to Ullswater, a 5 minute walk. Great for swimming and paddle boarding. Definitely recommend and come back

We had a lovely stay at Riplings. Very comfortable well equipped apartment in a great location. The best thing was being so close to the lake - just a short walk down a country path - ideal for a wild swim! Nice hike too to Beacon Fell and Beacon Tarn - doable from the apartment.

Superb cottage with great access to all areas of the lakes. Cross the road and visit the boat club and jetty for a bracing and enjoyable swim in the lake off the jetty. Brilliant week

Ripplings is a wonderful find, great cottage with parking and the most amazing shower, enormous firm comfortable bed and a well appointed kitchen with open living space so that the chef isn't left out.
