We just had a fantastic stay at the coach house. We were a party of two couples. The house is very spacious and well equipped for all needs and entertainment. We made good use of the keyboard and board games and the space outside was perfect in the evening to take in the beautiful views with a cocktail. The house was so homely and had lovely lightiRead moreng, thanks to the many windows/doors. It is perfectly placed with so much to explore on foot and by car. We all love the house, and are sad to be leaving but have every intention to return as soon as possible! Hide

We stayed at The Coach House in Ireleth , outside Askam in Furness, drawn by the setting and by how peaceful it was during the heatwaves in June and July. The property itself is lovely, and for most of our stay the patio at the rear of the coach house lived up to the listing genuinely a delightful, peaceful spot for al fresco dining, with the sea Read moreviews promised. We really appreciated the new renovations, the new furniture, tasteful decor, and plenty of seating areas with wonderful views from the full length windows overlooking the bay in the distance. It was the perfect place for reading and doing some writing , as it was so peaceful. The location was great for exploring the south lakes, and we went to Cartmel, Holker Hall, Coniston, Windermere. It was easy to walk to the beach at Askam once we had worked out which road leads to the beach as there are no signs anywhere. There was only one decent grocery shop ( Co-Op) in Askam, and no village pub unfortunately. For a bigger supermarket , there was a Booths in Ulveston. The only decent pub was in Cartmel. There are a few lovely walks, and walking on the Askam beach was great. The only downside is the close proximity to the Parsonage. The inner courtyard patio is shared, but guests at the coach house have their own patio anyway. Most guests staying in the main house respect that boundary. But during the end of our stay, a family with three young children and various other people arrived and that boundary wasn't respected at all: the children ran onto our patio repeatedly, which is genuinely dangerous given the sheer drop at its edge. They played racket games in the courtyard, yelling, and the whole atmosphere was ruined. This took the edge off the restorative benefits of our holiday. By 8am the next morning there was an outdoor fitness class running in the courtyard with a trainer, in full view of our ground-floor bedroom windows. The noise was unbearable. Having a house that can accommodate 10 people is definitely a negative point here because the energy from all those people spills over into the coach house area. I don't know why guests didn't use their own lawned garden at the side of the house. It also makes parking extremely difficult as there is no space for parking when Parsonage guests arrive and stay in several cars. All in all a wonderful property but the proximity to such a large house is too disruptive and we would sadly not stay here again. Hide

Lovely cottage with views across the estuary. The owners couldnt have been more helpful and the handyman kept us amused with stories of the buildings and surrounding areas. Comfortable and cosy and so handy for the beach, hills and exploring the lakes.
