This cottage is situated in a beautiful tranquil woodland valley at Greatrock Farm on the outskirts of Hennock village and the local pub (The Palk Arms) is just a ten minute walk away. The market town of Bovey Tracey is a short drive away and offers an interesting variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and much more. The forest surrounding the property is a haven for wildlife and offers a range of walks straight from your front door, including a private woodland track for guest use only with a great view point with picnic table. Tottiford, Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs are about an hour away on foot or a ten minute drive. Also the National Trust estate of Parke in Bovey Tracey is well worth a visit. There is easy access to Dartmoor National Park; highlights include Haytor, Houndtor and Widdecombe-on-the-Moor. Visit beautiful coastal locations such as Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torquay and Dartmouth. The cathedral city of Exeter is just half an hour away by road or why not take a scenic railway journey there from Newton Abbot train station.
One of three cottages sleeping up to three guests, steps lead up to the entrance of the property which is detached from the main farmhouse and offers contemporary accommodation on one floor. The three cottages altogether can sleep up to 11 people which is perfect for gatherings with family or friends. Inside, there is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The living room area has a wood burner (with a free supply of logs) and a Smart TV/DVD player. If you choose to stay in and cater for yourselves, the kitchen has an electric double oven and hob, Smeg fridge with an ice compartment and a microwave. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a single bed. Completing the accommodation is the shower room, with a shower, WC and heated towel radiator.
To the side of the property is a garden area for guests, with outdoor dining furniture. There are also large gardens to explore with additional shared seating areas, an outdoor kitchen (with a wood fired BBQ), a croquet lawn, petanque court and an ornamental greenhouse from which you can observe a large variety of woodland birds feeding throughout the day. The games barn (with home cinema) has a wood burning stove for cooler days and bi-fold doors which can be fully opened in good weather.
