You can bring your own horse, by arrangement, to this wonderful wooden lodge set on a peaceful working farm near Abergele in North Wales. The farm boasts equestrian facilities, including stabling and an outdoor sandy arena near the lodges, and there are bridleways criss-crossing the local countryside. The town of Abergele (6 miles) offers shops, eateries and local services. Hop along the coastline, checking out the beaches, including shingly Pensarn (6.5 miles) or sandy Colwyn Bay (12 miles). It’s possible to take horses on them too, but ensure you qualify at the time of your visit. The town of Colwyn Bay is a classic Victorian seaside resort, complete with a restored pier, while tiny St Asaph (4 miles) impresses with its cathedral. The countryside around this property is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts generally, offering walking, cycling, fishing and golf.

This family-friendly retreat has a cosy feel, welcoming you into its homely open-plan living space. Access is up three steps to the entrance, but the accommodation is then all on ground level. The open-plan living space has comfortable seating around the wood burner and flows into the dining area, from where double doors open onto the garden. The spacious kitchen corner has everything you might want in terms of both space and mod cons. There’s a separate utility room for laundry and storage. Then there’s one comfortable double and one twin bedroom with traditional-style furnishings, which share a shower room.

There’s a wooden decked area, complete with a table and seats, leading from the dining room French doors, which you can open for that indoor-outdoor feeling. The veranda gives onto a large lawned garden via three steps, and this space is fully enclosed for peace of mind with children. The facilities here include seating, a BBQ and your own hot tub for up to six guests. To the front of the lodge is private parking for up to three cars on a drive with further lawned areas.

It's an excellent cottage and it's in a really good location. Conwy and Llandudno are only a short distance away. Very relaxing and peaceful. I would recommend.
