A chic hideaway for two, this delightful studio apartment has been created within a former Shropshire barn. Sleeping two guests and offering pet-friendly accommodation, this hideaway is one of a pair of similar retreats on the site, 4.5 miles from Minsterley and 15 miles from Shrewsbury. Pull on your walking boots or grab your mountain bike and head straight out from here to enjoy your spectacular surroundings. Head off to the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve, 5 miles from your base, to walk along the ridge and take in the awe-inspiring views across England and Wales. There are routes here for walkers of various energy levels. Closer to the barn, climb 1 mile up to Bromlow Callow or venture 3.5 miles to Mitchell’s Fold, where you can see the remains of a Bronze Age stone circle. Cross the border into Wales and while away an afternoon in colourful Welshpool, with its independent shops and eateries, or visit Powys Castle.

Pause to admire the views before taking two steps up to enter your bright, single-storey holiday haven. Take in the scenery through the glass doors at the end of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom before unpacking any provisions you have brought with you in the tastefully decorated, compact kitchen area. Here, you will find everything you need to assist you as you prepare light meals and snacks for each other during your stay. The table is also nearby, where you can sit down to delicious, romantic feasts together. At the far end of the space, your comfortable seating and bedroom areas await, where you can relax in front of your favourite programme on the Smart TV, with the doors to the terrace open in the summer months. There is also a generous, enclosed, grassy area where guests are welcome to take their dogs to play. This is shared with the other barn apartment and features fire pits. Guests benefit from private, off-road parking for two cars.
