The scenic village of East Bergholt is nestled in the heart of Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where you not only benefit from scenic walks and foodie pubs on your doorstep, but you also have a host of local attractions to suit all ages and tastes within easy reach. The famous Colchester Zoo is a wonderful fun-filled family day out and is just 15 miles away and there’s fun to be had at Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park, less than 10 miles away. Bird watchers will enjoy a visit to RSPB Flatford Garden Nature Reserve which is just 2 miles away and the beautiful coast is within 18 miles, perfect for a day at the seaside.

Upon entering this wonderfully presented Scandinavian-style lodge, you will be greeted by a modern and open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which boasts gorgeous views out to the Dedham Vale through the bi-fold doors which span the front of the property. A lovely social space, it has everything you need to entertain friends and family with comfort and style. The chef amongst you will enjoy preparing hearty meals in the sleek kitchen, which features an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table comfortably seats four guests, giving you the perfect spot to grab some breakfast, a light lunch or dinner while you talk about the adventures ahead with loved ones. The lounge is a lovely spot to relax after a tiring day, with a comfortable sofa and chairs that surround a wood burner. The sizeable Smart TV allows you to stream or watch your favourite shows with the sunset providing a perfect backdrop. There are two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a double bed with bedside tables, chest of drawers and a coat rack to hang your more formal garments, and the second bedroom has twin beds (which can be made into a king size on request), again with drawers and a coat rack, making this property ideal for a small family or two couples. The family bathroom has a bath, separate shower and WC, so why not revitalise your senses after a good night's sleep before heading out to explore the local area and beyond?

Set within peaceful countryside, having a partly enclosed garden with hedging, but not fully enclosed you couldn't find a better spot to enjoy your freshly ground morning coffee and breakfast, either al fresco on the terrace with the table and chairs provided, or in the comfort of the lodge. With the sunset in the background you'll be able to sink into the hot tub recuperating after a day of fun and excitement. There is off-road private allocated parking for up to two cars.

Lovely lodge in a quiet location which suits us, however Deben lodge is not enclosed for your dog so do be aware. We are lucky that our dog isn't inclined to wander off but there are rabbits etc around so her nose following was on point. It is a clean and spacious lodge with everything we needed for a break. Brilliant location. Loved the 2 pubs that were within walking distance, about 20-30 mins to each pub, and both pubs were very different but both lovely. Very peaceful and it's exactly what we expected. Log burner was a brilliant touch, hot tub was amazing! Beds very comfy and kitchen kitted out very well. We stayed in the lodge over Xmas, and what a lovely few days we had?! The beautifully decorated tree and lights around the eaves gave a lovely atmosphere, it was cold outside and once the fire was lit, we had the cosiest of stays. The kitchen was well stocked to allow for a proper Xmas dinner to be cooked without compromise, and a dishwasher was grRead moreeat. Deben Lodge was a really delightful place to stay. Highly recommend. Peaceful & brilliant walks with our dog from the Lodge & to Flatford Mill & Dedham Vale. Lucca Italian restaurant in Manningtree was fab and we were able to sit in the heated courtyard with our dog & the very very tasty takeaway from Nirala Tandoori Manningtree.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. It's cosy, warm, and the perfect size for our group. We loved the privacy, the hot tub, and the thoughtful touches like the complimentary milk and biscuits. The lodge is great overall, though cleanliness could be improved slightly. A few extra household essentials would make it even more convenient. Overall, itRead mores a beautiful, comfortable property that we'd happily return to! Hide

A great lodge situated in the lovely little hamlet of Flatford. Very nice accommodation, a great hot tub and plenty to do around and about in a rather picturesque part of the world.

Would high recommend should you require peace and quiet. Good walk over the fields to Flatford mill rather than use the road. Excellent equipment supplied too though the sofas are not very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Deben Lodge. The lodge felt lovely and secluded with lots of privacy. The hot tub was great, the beds were comfortable, the shower was powerful and the bath towels were very plush. The kitchen was well kitted out (and even had a dishwasher!) We really enjoyed walking to the National Trust, only 10 minutes on foot. PlusRead more, we found a lovely caf (also in walking distance) with outdoor seating which was child friendly (Oranges & Lemons Caf). Would highly recommend. Hide

Great space for pur get-away. Private and quiet. Equipped more than we could ever expect. Great addition in the boot room to dry wet clothes. Everything was spotless and to the highest spec and lots of homely personal touches. Great location to just go for a walk and explore the local village or national trust. Would definitely go back.
