Escape with your loved ones to this beautiful stone cottage off the beaten track sitting in on a working farm at the foot of Cadair Idris Mountain. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it’s the perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends seeking adventure with a serene retreat to call home while discovering the wild beauty of Snowdonia National Park. Set off in the morning to explore the charming market town of Dolgellau (4 miles), which is an excellent base for keen walkers and hikers. In the afternoon, make a beeline for Fairbourne Beach (6 miles) to stroll along the beach and soak up the stunning views across the Mawddach Estuary. Later in the day, head off to Barmouth (8 miles) to discover its scenic harbour and experience all the thrills and spills at its traditional fairground.

Step inside and you'll be welcomed by a characterful space that’s overflowing with impressive original features, like exposed beams and flagstone floors. Take a moment by the feature fireplace in the lounge to appreciate the rustic-chic decor before you head to the lovely kitchen – where bifold doors lead out onto the veranda – to rustle up some dinner. Get the whole group together to eat at the wooden dining table, and then head back to the lounge area to unwind with a glass of wine by the glowing wood burner. At the end of the day, make your way upstairs and you’ll discover two thoughtfully styled double bedrooms, each offering picturesque garden and woodland views. In the morning, enjoy a relaxing bath in the free-standing tub in the first-floor bathroom.

Step outside and you’ll find the perfect space to socialise and relax. Unwind with a cup of coffee on the veranda, or cosy up in one of the veranda’s two covered areas while you admire the off-grid mountain views. There’s a stylish, rustic rainfall shower on the private veranda for washing off boots or sandy feet. In the evening, fire up the charcoal BBQ and host an al fresco dinner on the paved patio, before you head to the fire pit to toast marshmallows under the brightest stars. Parking is available in the private parking area (there’s room for two cars).
