Gather family and friends for an unforgettable stay at this characterful escape that’s well placed for exploring the beauty of Herefordshire. Just 6 miles away lies the literary haven of Hay-on-Wye, where bookshops, cafes, and festivals make for a lively day out. History lovers can wander up to Arthur’s Stone, a fascinating Neolithic burial chamber perched on a hilltop with sweeping valley views. The surrounding countryside is a dream for walkers, with trails leading into the dramatic Black Mountains and along the famous Offa’s Dyke Path. For a gentler pace, take to the water with a canoe trip along the River Wye, drifting through some of the region’s most picturesque scenery. Within 20 miles, you’ll also find the striking Hay Bluff, the peak of Lord Hereford’s Knob, and the shimmering waters of Llangorse Lake, where water sports and wildlife spotting await.

Enter into the open-plan ground floor of this stunning property, where rustic charm meets contemporary finishes. With exposed beams and brickwork, and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, this is a cottage that’s sure to impress. The heart of the house is the kitchen/diner. Whether you’re rustling up a hearty supper of local produce or sharing a lazy breakfast, you’ll find everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen. Perch at the breakfast bar with a drink while the designated chef works their magic, before gathering around the dining table beneath statement low-hung lighting. A ground-floor cloakroom and a handy utility room for stashing muddy boots and coats add extra convenience. After a day exploring, the cosy lounge invites you to curl up on the sofa, fire up the Smart TV, and unwind in comfort. From the dining room, the open-tread staircase leads to a bright landing with a chaise longue, the perfect reading nook. Four beautifully finished bedrooms await. Choose from a king-size with en-suite shower room, a twin zip-and-link, a super-king-size, and a double with ensuite shower room. A luxurious family bathroom with a free-standing bath awaits for an indulgent soak.

Outside, a private enclosed courtyard with a table and chairs provides a lovely setting for al fresco dining on warm summer evenings. Parking is available for three cars, ensuring your stay will be hassle-free from arrival.

The cottage we stayed in was beautifully furnished and well equipped. 5 of us stayed and there was plenty of room for us all to live in luxury. This is one of the nicest places weve been on our annual walking holidays. Wed definitely go back.
