Escape with family or friends to this characterful barn conversion, well placed for exploring the very best of Herefordshire's countryside. Just 6 miles away, the literary town of Hay-on-Wye beckons with its world-famous bookshops, cosy cafes, and lively festivals. History enthusiasts will relish a visit to Arthur’s Stone, a Neolithic burial chamber perched atop a hill with breathtaking valley views. Walkers and hikers can embark on adventures across the Black Mountains or follow the scenic Offa's Dyke Path, while those seeking a gentler pace can glide along the River Wye by canoe, taking in the peaceful surroundings. Within 20 miles, discover the dramatic landscapes of Hay Bluff, conquer the summit of Lord Hereford’s Knob, or have a day at Llangorse Lake for water sports and wildlife spotting.

Enter this welcoming single-storey barn, where character and modern comfort combine seamlessly. The open-plan living and dining area is filled with natural light from the full-height glazed windows, which open onto the landscaped shared courtyard. Exposed stone walls, A-frame beams, and soft, low lighting add warmth, creating the perfect setting to relax and unwind. The hand-crafted kitchen island is at the heart of the space and comes fully equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. Two beautifully appointed bedrooms each feature their own en-suite shower room, providing privacy for all guests. Patio doors in each bedroom opening onto patio area to drink morning coffe. Practical touches include a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a separate boot room for storing muddy boots after countryside adventures.

Step outside to the enclosed rear courtyard, where a seating area awaits for al fresco dining or evening drinks. With parking provided for two cars, you’re all set to explore the surrounding area with ease.

Everything you could need was present, kitchen was well equipped, stock items like oil and condiments present. Hot tub devine. Quiet location, nothing going on around you but we knew that on booking. 10 mile drive (20 mins) to Hay on Wye, lovelyRead more shops, pubs, all dog friendly. Nice river walk.
