The Aira Force Waterfall is to the south (4.5 miles), on the way to the beautiful Ullswater (5 miles) which you can travel across by steamer. To the east, Penrith is home to an ancient castle (9 miles), while to the west, the vibrant town of Keswick (9.5 miles) lies on the northern shores of Derwentwater.
