Munro-baggers will also appreciate the location, with the mighty Ben Macdui – Scotland’s second-highest mountain – within reach. Park at its base (29 miles) and set out on a challenging yet rewarding hike to the summit. After your adventure, head to one of the pubs or restaurants in Kingussie (8.5 miles) or Newtonmore (5.5 miles) to round off your day.
