A farmhouse for centuries, this superb Grade II-listed heritage building has been thoughtfully decorated and designed with all mod cons. Now a welcoming holiday home sleeping seven guests, it is perfect for a large family or friends sharing. The cottage is in an idyllic rural setting overlooking the lovely Aeron Valley and just 8 miles from golden beaches in the charming village of New Quay. Relax in one of the cafes overlooking the sheltered harbour and spot bottlenose dolphins, regularly seen here, or take a boat trip for a closer look at sea life along Cardigan Bay. New Quay is home to an excellent Marine Wildlife Centre and a honey farm with a tasting room and a chance to see the industrious bees behind glass. Pretty Georgian houses line the streets in the delightful harbour town of Aberaeron (6.5 miles), and there is another architectural gem at the 200-year-old Llanerchaeron Estate (4 miles).

The cottage is one of a small group of historic retreats on an organic farm run with a sustainable, eco-friendly philosophy. Cosy and comfortable, it is thoughtfully furnished to reflect the building’s 400-year-old story. Vintage wooden furniture, decorative china and traditional Welsh blankets create a homely, farmhouse atmosphere, together with original beams, exposed stone walls and delicate wall paintings dating back to the 18th century. On the ground floor, which has steps between rooms, find a well-equipped country kitchen, plus a dining area with a table and high-backed bench seating. Leading off from here is the charming living room, with inviting furniture and a wood burner inside the splendid original inglenook fireplace. A beautiful antique king-size bed is also on this floor, together with the family bathroom and a separate shower and WC. The wooden staircase leads to three further, delightful bedrooms: a super king-size, a triple with three single beds and one single, all dressed in Welsh blankets.

Outside, enjoy the lovely garden, with patio seating, a BBQ and gorgeous hot tub. Shared facilities include private farm walks and nature trails- with free welly hire if needed, a games barn with pool, darts, ping pong, table football, jenga and giant connect 4, a children's play park and climbing wall. A clay pizza oven with dining space is also available to hire. There is parking for one car, with more spaces close by.
