udbourne is nestled in beautiful countryside and sandwiched between the banks of the river Alde and Rendlesham Forest. It is a quiet location with a wonderful network of footpaths to explore. The neighbouring village of Orford (2 miles) is a picturesque place, that is a quintessential blend of history, natural beauty, and cultural richness. Wander through the quaint streets lined with charming cottages, a delicious bakery and a couple of great pubs. Visit Orford Castle, a majestic 12th-century fortress overlooking the village and offering panoramic views of the river wall and marshes. For nature enthusiasts, Orford Ness National Nature Reserve boasts stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife, perfect for leisurely stroll or birdwatching. Rendlesham Forest (6 miles) is within easy reach too and is situated in a National Landscape. There are cycle trails, picnic stops, and plenty of footpaths to wander. This lovely holiday home is a great spot to base yourself and explore the local area.
This lovely old farmhouse is a wonderful home away from home, with an equally wonderful backdrop of Orford Ness and the River Alde in the distance. The hub of the home is the open-plan kitchen and dining space which boasts a modern fully fitted kitchen, with a marble island, excellent integrated appliances, a range cooker, and plenty of crockery and cooking equipment to prepare meals. The large farmhouse dining table can seat everyone together inside, but if you fancy dining al fresco, open the French doors which lead out to the garden and patio. The living room is a cosy and characterful space with the original inglenook fireplace hosting a roaring wood burner, exposed timber beams and a beautiful flagstone floor. It’s an excellent spot to rest and relax in whether that’s snuggling on the sofa in front of the TV, reading a book or playing one of the many board games available. A charming little reading nook, just off the living area has a library of literature to revel in, as well as a desk for any remote working needs. The first of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with gorgeous views of the garden and orchard. It has a comfy double bed as well as access to a Jack and Jill en-suite shower room. Upstairs hosts the remaining three bedrooms with a generous king-size room that has distant views of the river, a further double bedroom and a small yet sweet twin bedroom ideal for a children. There is also use of a shared family bathroom too.
Outside is like stepping into a wild meadow with different areas of the garden showcasing a unique feature. The ancient orchard is laden with apples in late summer; the wildflower garden is full of pretty flora and fauna and a haven for wildlife. An old oak tree has a bench underneath and creates a welcome canopy of shade during the height of summer. There is also a large lawn that is perfect for picnics, garden games and star gazing. This beautiful home is a superb setting to enjoy the Suffolk coast and countryside. Private parking for two cars.
