Set on a working 120-acre farm within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this single-storey cottage sleeps six guests, making it suitable for friends and families of all ages. For a relaxing meal away from the kitchen, there are two village pubs within 2.5 miles of the property, which is also surrounded by beautiful walks. Play a round of golf at Cricket St Thomas (9 miles) or head to the market towns of Taunton and Ilminster, both less than 10 miles away, for shops and a choice of places to eat. The National Trust’s Barrington Court and Montacute House are 8 miles and 15.5 miles, respectively. Ideally situated for exploring Somerset, Devon and Dorset, it’s an excellent base for memorable days out.

This thoughtfully renovated barn has been impeccably decorated to blend its former glory with modern touches, making use of attractive colours, timeless parquet floors and vaulted ceilings with original beams. From the entrance hall, enter the elegant living space, where you’ll find a choice of comfortable seating and a Smart TV – ideal for relaxing evenings streaming a favourite movie. Adjacent is a dining table for six, which flows into the pretty kitchen, where painted cupboards blend with a wooden worktop and ceramic sink for a modern/rustic look. The chef of the holiday will find everything they need here to whip up delicious meals, including a handy dishwasher for a quick tidy-up. There are three charming bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, plus a refreshing family shower room.

Outside, enjoy a sundowner or an al fresco dinner in the enclosed garden, which is equipped with outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Younger members of the group will enjoy the garden while your hounds can race around in the site’s fully enclosed 4-acre dog park with an agility area, mature trees for shade, a water bowser for thirsty dogs and picnic benches to sit back and enjoy the heavenly views over the Vale of Taunton to the rolling hills of the Quantocks beyond. There’s also a handy dog wash for cleaning mucky pups after country walks. Guests are invited to book a guided tour of the farm, where the owner will show you the animals, including sheep, goats and horses. This property offers ample private parking.

If you want a peaceful & quiet location this is ideal, the farm had sheep, goats & horses & the owner was happy for us to go & see the animals. The owners were really welcoming & left us a lovely welcome gift, there was also tea, coffee, sugar & milk. The kitchen was fully equipped, please note there is no washing machine. There were toiletrRead moreies in each bathroom. The cottage was stunning, all newly renovated & full of home comforts. The garden was enclosed & landscaped with garden furniture & a barbecue. However, there is no direct access from the house. I would totally recommend staying here. Hide

We have just spent 5 nights at the Milking Parlour and enjoyed every minute. The location is quiet and discreet with some beautiful views across the countryside. The cottage was immaculately clean and well presented with everything we needed whilst the beds were very comfortable. The owners were on site to greet us when we arrived with a warm and fRead moreriendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble, they even allowed our son to help them feed the animals on the farm. This place is a credit to their hard work and we hope to return in the future for another peaceful getaway. Hide

Great location with wonderful views. Friendly and helpful owners. Dog park is useful to allow dogs to have exercise off lead without worrying about them trying to get into fields with livestock.

Lovely location on a working farm with amazing views over the countryside. The property was clean and spacious enough for 6 adults and 4 dogs. Large, secure garden with bbq, picnic bench and sun loungers, great space for our 4 Labradors to chill. Amazing wooded walks just a few minutes drive away and a dog walking paddock at the top of the lane. A Read morehighly recommended stay...... Hide
