For a relaxing meal away from the kitchen, there are two village pubs within 2.5 miles of the property, which is also surrounded by beautiful walks. Play a round of golf at Cricket St Thomas (9 miles) or head to the market towns of Taunton and Ilminster, both less than 10 miles away, for shops and a choice of places to eat. The National Trust’s Barrington Court and Montacute House are 8 miles and 15.5 miles, respectively. Ideally situated for exploring Somerset, Devon and Dorset, it’s an excellent base for memorable days out.

The chef of the holiday will find everything they need here to whip up delicious meals, including a handy dishwasher for a quick tidy-up. There are three charming bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, plus a refreshing family shower room.

Outside, enjoy a sundowner or an al fresco dinner in the enclosed garden, which is equipped with outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Younger members of the group will enjoy the garden while your hounds can race around in the site’s fully enclosed 4-acre dog park with an agility area, mature trees for shade, a water bowser for thirsty dogs and picnic benches to sit back and enjoy the heavenly views over the Vale of Taunton to the rolling hills of the Quantocks beyond. There’s also a handy dog wash for cleaning mucky pups after country walks. Guests are invited to book a guided tour of the farm, where the owner will show you the animals, including sheep, goats and horses. This property offers ample private parking.

Enjoyed our stay. Loved all the little extras, and enjoyed the use of a dishwasher lol. Kids loved the animals. Nicely close to all the attractions we visited. Definitely visit again, and maybe have extended family book other property at the same time. Brilliant for pooches, even had towels and blankets for them.

We have just come back from a lovely stay at The Milking Parlour. We found it as a last minute place and couldn't be happier with what we found. Kim, Austin and family are so friendly and helpful. The cottage was well equipped, clean and tidy. A cute garden complete with shade and BBQ was also well enjoyed. The children enjoyed seeing the goats, shRead moreeep and horses. Waking up to the sheep each day was so lovely compared to traffic noise. My little girl also enjoyed collecting her own eggs. All together it was a great stay. We would highly recommend it as there is so much to do with 90 minutes of the cottage in all directions (Dorset, Somerset or Devon). Would happily stay again!!! Hide

The cottage is lovely, decorated and furnished to a high quality, the gorgeous kitchen is well equipped. We were greeted by Austin and were made to feel we could ask if we needed anything. There was a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates, as well as a basket with teas, coffees and biscuits. There were plenty of dishwasher tablets and cleRead moreaning materials, tea-towels, washing up liquid. We took our own as previous stays in holiday homes there have only ever been 1 or 2, so this was a pleasant change. The bathrooms are lovely with plenty of towels, toilet roll and complimentary toiletries etc. The showers are fab, great pressure and easy to use. The bedding is of a high quality and the beds are comfy. The views are outstanding and indeed heavenly. You are right in the middle of a working farm, so you will hear and see the sheep being moved from field to field and tractors and vehicles moving around. We loved this, the noises, the smells, it all made for a completely unique stay and our Grandkids absolutely loved it. We would highly recommend a stay here and would love to come back in the future. A wonderfully family run farm and holiday cottages. Hide
