This lovely rural retreat sleeping four guests offers a delightful, year-round holiday base for a family or couples sharing. Set on a farm on the edge of the pretty seaside town of Clevedon, the stone-built barn is ideally placed for exploring the scenic North Somerset coast and countryside. The new 13-mile Pier to Pier route for walkers and cyclists runs between Weston-super Mare and Clevedon, while the town’s Golf Centre, where both adults and children are welcome, is within easy reach. Take a stroll along the seafront promenade, with glorious views across to Wales and brave an exhilarating dip in Marine Lake, a huge seawater pool where you can enjoy safe swimming and water sports. The National Trust’s Clevedon Court (2.5 miles) is a fine medieval manor house set in lush, terraced gardens, and Tyntesfield (7.5 miles), an ornate Victorian Gothic Revival masterpiece set in extensive grounds, is well worth a visit.

This barn is one of two holiday properties on this peaceful rural site. From the front door, step into a wonderfully light and airy living space beneath a lofty vaulted ceiling with roof lights and a wealth of beams. The open-plan interior features subtle shades against a backdrop of whitewashed stone walls. An elegant L-shaped sofa provides comfortable seating in front of the wood burner, perfect for cosy nights in. There’s ample room for the pretty, country-style dining table and chairs, with a neat, all-white kitchen area, fitted with all you need to rustle up holiday fare. The ground floor also houses a spacious family bathroom and a sumptuous king-size bed. A staircase leads up to the charming twin bedroom, which can be made into a double bed on request at the time of booking. Set under the eaves and boasting skylights, this spot is ideal for stargazing as you fall asleep.

Outside, you’ll find garden furniture on the large patio. There is also a wider garden area with a boules court, shared with one other cottage.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 2'6" zip-and-link twins (can be made into a double on request at time of booking)

The cottage is in a very good location, but access to the road for walks or driving is poor. It is on a well uses cycle route and they whizz past!!! All seating was poor for older bodies (80+). Wooden chairs at dining table and a huge bed settee with low saggy back cushions for main seating. Kitchen equipment needs checking as lids for small saRead moreucepans, but pans missing. No veg knife and all large knives had handles which came off in use. Again not good for older hands. The beds were excellent and the location once you were able to access the road was stunning. The best walks. Spoke to owner on the phone on the first day as we had no hot water, but never actually met anyone. Hide

This cottage was just about perfect for us and our dog Roscoe. It had everything we needed (except a second WC!). It was very cosy and comfortable and the secure garden was great for Roscoe our Border Collie.

WHAT AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY. Fully equipped with all mod cons from internet TV, kitchen utilities. The cottages are only a very short walk to a footpath that leads to the seafront and a comfortable circular walk. The owners attention to detail was much appreciated, along with the flowers, selection of jams etc she even provided treats and toys Read morefor the dog. I shall not hesitate to book here again when we return to the area in years to come. Hide
