Property code: OC-T30222

This striking black and white period cottage is set in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside, 3.5 miles from the village of Martley. The cottage sits at the foot of the famous Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb – the site of numerous motorsport events throughout the year – making it a great base for racing enthusiasts. The property is also perfect for nature-loving couples and families, with a myriad of walking trails nearby, including along the River Teme and through ancient woodland. Further afield, explore the Malvern Hills National Landscape (8 miles) and Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve (14 miles). Popular local towns include Kidderminster and Tenbury Wells (both within 14.5 miles), while the historic city of Worcester is only 11 miles away. Worcester is home to a grand medieval cathedral and awe-inspiring museums telling tales of the rich local history. These cottages offer the perfect setting for an unforgettable adventure in Worcestershire.

The Grade II-listed, timber-framed property is full of character, with original tiles of the floor, low ceilings and doorways, and exposed beams and brickwork. The ground floor has a sociable, open-plan layout for spending quality time together. Enjoy family mealtimes at the large, wooden dining table, before sinking into one of the leather sofas to watch TV and warm your toes next to the wood burner-effect electric fire. The separate, country-style kitchen has everything needed for a successful, self-catering holiday. When day turns to night, ascend the original elmwood stairs to the first floor, where two inviting double bedrooms await, both with fabulous, exposed beams and countryside views. Completing the accommodation is an elegant bathroom with a gorgeous roll-top bath. Please note, due to the period of the property, you’ll find characterful low ceilings and uneven floors throughout the cottage.

Outside, bask in the sunshine in the shared garden, sipping a drink or sharing an al fresco supper as you admire the far-reaching countryside views. Ample private parking is available at the property. Please be aware that on event days, there may be activity in the adjacent paddock from early in the morning until late in the evening.
