Set off to Logan Botanic Garden (9.5 miles) to stroll through the walled garden, browse the exotic plants and enjoy a lazy lunch in the bistro. History buffs will love visiting the Kirkmadrine Stones, which are arguably the oldest and most important Christian memorial stones in Scotland. Displayed at Kirkmadrine Chapel (6.5 miles), these eight ancient stones date from the 5th to the 12th centuries. For impressive sunsets, head to Port Logan Bay (2 miles), which has a beautiful sandy beach stretching around to Port Logan Fish Pond which dates back to 1800 and was originally a sea-fish larder for the local laird.
