Let yourselves in at ground-floor level and head up the stairs to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With sun streaming in, this high-ceilinged, beamed space offers plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Comfortable seating is arranged around a Smart TV to enable you to catch up on your favourite boxsets. The kitchen, at the other end of the generous room, is equipped so you can cater for your party with ease on those occasions you choose not to dine out. There is also a handy table up here. The double bedrooms are adjoining doubles, the first with an en-suite bathroom, leads through into the second double bedroom. A single bedroom, with a shower cubicle and en-suite WC, is off the second double, making this a superb suite for a family.
Outside, guests can explore the 18-acre estate which is elevated and looks down upon its own fields, river and lake. A rowing boat can be used on the lake, and there’s a shady picnic table for guests to sit, relax and appreciate the views. Take a walk or bike ride around the grounds and you’ll find plenty of wildlife, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see the Oyster Catchers nesting. You can feed the animals including sheep, geese, chickens and pig with the owners and there’s a ruin of the original Oxborough village church (dating back to the year 946) which guests are welcome to visit.
