Situated in Oxborough; a picturesque, rural village in Norfolk, guests are just 8 miles from the market town of Swaffham with lots of great places to eat and drink, and independent shops to browse. If it’s a bit of culture and history you’re after, there are a variety of National Trust places nearby including Oxburgh Hall on your doorstep featuring a medieval manor house and Victorian garden, or the much-loved country retreat of the royal family, Sandringham (20 miles). The nearest beach can be found at Snettisham (27 miles), so make a day of it and drive along the stunning North Norfolk coastline with its sand dunes, clifftop walks, sandy beaches, picturesque quays, and salt marshes. Visit the Watatunga Wildlife Reserve (12 miles) to experience a Norfolk safari in which the animals roam free among 170 acres of countryside.

You’ll feel instantly at home in this welcoming and tastefully presented cottage. The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed to whip up a home-cooked meal and a sit-up island for dining – or chatting to the chosen chef. The chic lounge provides a wonderful space for cosying up in front of the wood burner in the cooler months and enjoying a movie night on the Smart TV. With calming decor and sumptuous sofas, this is a delightful spot to while away an evening. When day turns to night, walk through to the master bedroom with its plush king-size bed and patio doors to the garden. The second bedroom boasts a welcoming double bed, while the well-appointed family bathroom with a walk-in shower completes the interior.

Outside is a private lawned garden with garden furniture and a gas BBQ for those warmer days in the sunshine. Whatever the weather, hop into the wood-fired hot tub and soak amongst the bubbles. The 18-acre estate offers lots of opportunities for walking and biking. You can also meet the resident animals including sheep, geese, chickens, and pigs. A rowing boat can be used on the lake and there is a shared picnic area. Beautifully clean cottage in a wonderful rural location, however expect to travel a bit to visit some superb locations. We had a lovely stay for our first trip to Norfolk.

An absolutely idyllic cottage and setting, really feels like somewhere you can escape from the busyness of usual like. Remote countryside location with lots of farm animals to meet in the neighbouring fields. Every bit as good as the pictures, with all the comforts you might need away from home, immaculately clean. The wood-fired hot tub did take qRead moreuite some time to heat (around 3 hours on our first use), so make sure you get it fired up in good time! Not a place to be if you need good wifi, but that certainly can be a good excuse to get off grid. We didn't want to leave, highly recommended. Hide

Lovely bungalow, very quiet and spotlessly clean. Accessed down a bumpy farm track but no speeding vehicles. Very close to Oxburgh Hall (NT) and great food at Bedingfeld Arms. No local shops within walking distance so be prepared to take basic provisions. Nice welcome basket of snacks was provided. The heating is controlled remotely by the ownRead moreers. There is no general information pack - the owners say they are happy to be contacted if you want recommendations etc (and to adjust temp inside) but I think a guide book containing pub recommendations, instruction books on appliances, directions to nearest shop/garage and local doctor/dentist details may be useful. We didnt use the wood fired hot tub so cannot comment on it. The property is well placed for lots of National Trust houses and a short drive to the coast. Hide

Lovely clean modern accommodation. Great location to villages. A drive to a beach. Lots of walks near by. Personal preference didnt like the wood burning hot tub due to having to wait to long for it to heat up, also no bubbles

We had an amazing week in Rectory Cottage. The facilities provided were incredible, nothing was unthought of. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and the owners are very friendly - our children absolutely loved feeding the piglets every morning & evening. The cottage is very spacious with a modern interior and we were really sad to leave. The locatRead moreion isnt overly central but that didnt hinder our stay at all - most days out that we did were 40+ mins drive away. Thank you Paul and Marie for an amazing holiday. Hide
