The Triumphal Arch is a magnificent 18th Century, Grade I listed building designed by the renowned architect, William Kent, to impress travellers passing through to the North Norfolk coast. The Arch is made up of two holiday homes and presents a striking picture as you drive up to the building with beautiful views surrounding you. The Triumphal Arch East is a cosy bolthole, perfect for couples looking for a romantic retreat. Offering a compact kitchen, cloakroom and living space on the ground floor and an open-plan bedroom area upstairs with a comfortable king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom area with roll-top bath. The Triumphal Arch East allows guest to relax, unwind and enjoy a truly elegant retreat. Shops/Pubs/Restaurants: 3 miles.

Notes: This is a non-smoking property. Mobile reception – poor. Due to the age and character of the building, please be aware the property has limited space, low ceilings and doorways throughout. Whilst we do our very best to deter and remove them before your stay, the Triumphal Arch, like many old properties, occasionally has an issue with cluster flies. There are estate vehicles & bikes that do use the archway for access to areas of the Estate. Please see upcoming Estate Events here.

The Holkham Estate is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to Holkham Hall, which sits proudly at the centre of the Estate with far-reaching views over the 25,000-acres of historic parkland and woodland. One of the region’s finest and most recognisable Palladian country houses and the ancestral home of the Coke family for more than 400 years. The grounds are ideal for cycling and feature many themed walks and trails, with bike hire available close to the courtyard, restaurant and gift shop. You can even take to the water on the lake during the warmer months of the year. Just outside the walls of Holkham Park is Lady Anne’s Drive which leads down to the wide-sweeping sands and big skies of the dog friendly beach, bordered by pine woods. You will also find yourself spoilt for choice when looking to eat out. The Victoria Inn in the Holkham village serves fantastic local, seasonal cuisine from dawn to dusk, whilst lunch can also be enjoyed at the Hall’s Courtyard Cafe or the Beach Cafe slightly further afield in Wells-next-the-Sea. Wells-next-the-Sea is a charming coastal town with its iconic beach huts and picturesque harbour where you can enjoy fresh shellfish or the catch of the day. Other delights nearby are Burnham Market and its sister villages, Brancaster, Cley-next-the-Sea and the town of Holt to name just a few.

Very cosy and full of character. Really "away from it all" - so nice to see the sky with no light pollution.

Small tiny living which has everything you could need in the most stunning location; everything on the doorstep. The free car parking pass was great and we enjoyed not only the welcome pack but 10% discount card. Not only would we recommend but wed love to return.

An amazing setting for a peaceful break. Wonderful, quirky cottage surrounded by fields inhabited by hares, sheep, pheasants and bats. Our 3rd visit, and we will certainly be booking again. Ideal location for exploring the North Norfolk Coast.

A small but very clean and comfortable cottage in a stunning building on the Holkum estate. We ate out, including breakfast so didnt really test the kitchen. Cottage has a large bath but no shower combined with the bedroom, with no separation. This was fine for us, but may be more of an issue for couples with mobility issues or who perhaps diRead morednt know each other quite so well. Hide

The property was very cosy/comfortable, but it was rather small. The welcome pack was much appreciated. That said it was ideally located and we were able to have our dog there. A light over the stairs would be useful at night, as the toilet is downstairs and some form of waterproof covering under the bath is needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
