New Harborough Farmhouse is a wonderful old farmhouse that provides a superb holiday retreat. The lovely historic town of Wirksworth with heritage railway, heritage trail, Northern Lights little cinema and many a pub and restaurant is just five minutes' drive away.

The property is really well appointed to a very high standard and equipped with everything that one would need. As advertised the property is a bit remote, which is what we wanted, but in easy driving distance and some great places to visit. There are also some lovely walk straight from the property itself. We would definitely recommend it.

New Harborough Farm was absolutely perfect for our 3 generation Christmas break. The house is very well equipped and has everything you need. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms extremely clean with plentiful of hot water for both showering and baths. The host was extremely helpful before our arrival and made sure everything was OK shoRead morertly after we arrived, which was very re-assuring. I would have no hesitation recommending this property to a family group at anytime of the year. Hide

Lovely cozy farmhouse for a wider family stay. Was the first gales of the season and we all slept well - apart from the teens who stayed up watching horror movies in the snug sitting room, taking advantage of being able to shut the door on the oldies.

Excellent for peace except for continuous fan noise from factory nearby ( not noticeable in house). Wonderfull for cyclists, safe and exciting for children.

Lovely cottage, handsomely decorated and very well equipped. The access drive through the quarry is a bit dispiriting but the accommodation itself is excellent.

A lovely, very spacious, clean, well equipped cottage that proved ideal for our extended family get together over the Easter weekend. Appreciated the offer of early access on the Fri once the property had been cleaned and readied for us. Only minor issue was the wi-fi not working when we arrived on the Fri evening but property manager was very pro-Read moreactive once we reported this and an engineer arrived the next morning to install a temporary fix (turned out issue was with satellite receiver/cable). Unfortunately the description for this holiday cottage is not accurate. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped however it's location next to a factory is unfortunate and therefore I would not recommend this as a summer location. The advert indicated 'occasional noise from factory'. It would be more accurate to state 'occasional quiet'. TheRead more noise was constant Monday through Friday 24 hrs a day from what we could tell apart from a 30 min break around 6pm. They did take Friday evening off but were back working on Saturday. The advert shows a lovely garden space however, it was not peaceful to sit in and therefore we hardly used it. The internal glazing made the noise bearable inside but as mentioned this is a problem in summer when it is so hot you may need to leave windows open at night. This location could only be recommended for winter gatherings where you would not expect to sit outside or weekend only lets where you might accept only day time noise on the Saturday. Hide

The location is fantastic, and a great starting point. We throughly enjoyed this holiday and would definitely recommend it. It housed 10 of us and at no time did we feel over crowded.
