Ringstead is a hidden prize tucked slightly inland from the west Norfolk coast just waiting to be discovered. With houses in the village from the 16th Century and beyond, it is an attractive spot for a holiday. The 17th Century village pub serves delicious meals using local produce and the well-stocked village store is a true delight, showcasing local food and drink, including an extensive ale list of local brews and also a series of rooms, full of things old and new, which is a treasure hunters delight! The village is next to Ringstead Downs, an attractive chalk grassland located in a deep-set valley with The Peddars Way and Norfolk Costal Path also within easy reach. The Ringstead Loop cycle route is part of the national cycle network, which passes through the village and runs for 23 miles if you have the legs for it! The wide beaches of the local coast are close by at Old Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea, Thornham, Brancaster and further afield at Holkham, Wells & Blakeney. Great for family days out, rock pooling, sand kiting, wind surfing with some amazing evening sunsets. Less than 3 miles away, Thornham a popular coastal village, has a high quality deli/restaurant, several pubs. Drove Farm Orchards nearby, has several retail outlets & also a farm shop, cycle hire, Eric’s Fish & Chips & Pizzeria & also Mimms Ice Cream Parlour, serving treats & coffee. The RSPB Bird Reserve at Titchwell is just a few miles up the coast and the elegant Georgian village of Burnham Market with its eclectic shops and galleries should not be missed.
