In the heart of the Hope Valley this central base is ideal for enjoying this part of the Peak National Park this being one of two cottages at this location. Some excellent walking exists in all directions the Pennine Way being the most challenging. If the need arises then you do have good access by rail links or a drive to the cities of Sheffield and Manchester with a wide range of shops cafes bar theatre and other attractions.  Nearby, Hope, offers all the local amenities, including a post office, groceries and a pub, ideal for those who are only seeking to explore by foot.

You enter the barn which is full of charm and character into the open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area with its welcoming Yorkshire range fireplace and an beautiful glazed window to the rear. The room is well equipped with beams and stone flagged floors giving this area further character.

Upstairs the three bedrooms, two double and one with two single beds, offers guests the most peaceful of nights, complete with ceiling beams and a family bathroom with bath, toilet and basin.

Outside you can sit and enjoy the far reaching views or explore the orchard garden.

A clean and comfortable cottage in a great location on the side of Win Hill. We walked everywhere and used the conveniently located train service to either head out or return from our walks in and around the stunning Hope Valley. This is a really lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Fifteen minutes walk through the fields to Hope Station. It's a lovely walk up Win Hill and down to Ladybower reservoir. Very comfortable and well-equipped. Pretty garden with picnic benches.

Peaceful cottage in a beautiful area with lovely views from the garden. Perfect location for walkers, we left the car unused for several days. The cottage was warm and comfortable - might be rather tight on space for 6 adults. Helpful owners who were on hand if needed.

Lovely cottage, clean, tidy and well equipped. Just right for our family. Our kids loved being able to get up close to the sheep and chickens. Beautiful location. Great location for Win Hill and Hope Valley including Castleton. The house was thoroughly clean when we got there but always felt a bit cramped with 6 people (4 adults, 2 kids) plus a dog. Not the end of the world though. Very quiet at night and very relaxing. Electrical goods in the kitchen need updating.

Alice's cottage is beautifully comfortable, warm and welcoming. The location is beautiful - great views and wonderful walks on the doorstep. And an easy walk to the lovely Cheshire Cheese pub! Owners have created a great atmosphere and are on hand, if needed, but give you all the space you need to relax . We had a wonderful time.

Great location for lots of walking trails. Accommodation was suitable for the 5 adults and one large dog in our party. Facilities were just as described in the booking information. A quirky and cosy place to stay.

We had a lovely week at Alice Cottage with our dog. We were welcomed by the owner Rachel who also left us eggs, biscuits and flowers. The cottage is homely and comfortable with big squishy sofas, a family sized table and a well equipped kitchen. The setting, on working farm half way up Winn Hill, is perfect and there are scores of local footpaths tRead moreo walk with amazing views.
