Rock Beach and Daymer Bay

Made famous by their fabulous views of the Camel estuary and Padstow, Rock and Daymer Bay are some of Cornwall’s ‘must-visit’ locations. Dogs are welcome on the seafront and along the coastal path that leads to Polzeath, which our local team assure you is well worth the walk.

Summerleaze, Bude

Summerleaze is Bude’s main beach and is recognised mostly for its iconic fishing boats that bob up and down in the rivers’ waters. The beach is also home to golden sands and a tidal swimming pool, which Original Cottages is a proud supporter of. Dogs are more than welcome in Summerleaze, but must be kept on leads between 10am and 6pm from 21st May-30th September every year.

Watergate Bay, Newquay

Our dog-friendly cottages in Newquay put you in perfect range of Watergate Bay, a large beach just three miles outside of Newquay. This beach is dog-friendly all year round and has two miles of gorgeous sands uncovered during low tide.

Harlyn Bay, Saint Merryn

This wide and spacious beach has a perfect mixture of sand and pebbles that are perfect for you dogs to run around. There are also lots of interesting rock pools to explore with the family, which are backed by picturesque dunes. Dogs are allowed on the beach in all seasons and are also allowed on the trail to Trevone that is closeby.

Pedn Vounder, Porthcurno

This has to be one of Cornwall’s finest beaches, with crystal clear waters and a beautiful sandy beach. It is also really accessible, with a car park just a ten minute walk away. And the best part? Dogs are welcome all year round!

St Petroc’s Bistro, Padstow

Run by the famous Rick Stein, this Mediterranean inspired bistro in Padstow is simply a delight. Dogs are welcome in the secret garden area and bar, which has a snug fire perfect for rainy days and cold winter nights.

The Mariners, Rock

This gastropub is owned by chef Paul Ainsworth and is a staple in Cornwall. Featured in the Michelin guide, The Mariners has an impressive selection of menus, catering for everyone from children to vegetarians and vegans and the gluten free. Dogs are welcome on the ground floor of the restaurant and booking in advance is well advised. 

The Watering Hole, Perranporth

This lively bar is not just near to, or next to a dog-friendly beach, but it is actually ON one! With a great range of food and drink, and a whole host of live music events throughout the year, The Watering Hole will make for a day/night to remember. 

The Rockpool, Gwithian

Nestled in the dunes between Gwithian and Godrevy, the Rockpool is a cafe which more than matches its idyllic setting. Mexico Towans, a year-round dog-friendly beach is also only a two-mile walk away.
