Life’s short so why not make the most of it? Together with our partners, the very adventurous Go Ape, we’re giving you the chance to get active in a part of the world that will take your breath away.

Our latest competition is all about getting out and about. We are giving away a week's stay in a fantastic cottage for six in North Norfolk - the perfect place to get out and explore by foot, bike, boat or even through the trees! Yes, our lovely partners at Go Ape are giving away tickets for the winners and runners-up for their Tree Top Adventure where you can take exploring to new heights!

Briston is a small village in the North Norfolk countryside, a perfect base to discover all that this gorgeous part of the country has to offer. A network of cycle routes both on- and off-road will take you through some typically gorgeous countryside and pretty Norfolk towns and villages.

In this neck of the woods all roads lead to the sea and the Norfolk Coast AONB. It’s a coastline that has something for everyone – from the traditional fish n chips and end of the pier show at Cromer to the nature reserves at Blakeney and Holkham. Seals bask and bob at Blakeney Point and there’s even some good surfing to be had at Scolt Head Island when the wind and tide are in the right direction.

Away from the lonely sea and skies, there are plenty of places to visit. World famous Thursford is next door to Briston, and you’re close to Holkham Hall and Blickling Estate, two wonderful country houses with vast estates that are great for exploring and play host to numerous events across the year. And of course, cultural Norwich is at the heart of Norfolk for a fantastic day out.

Possibly the highpoint (almost certainly the highest point!) of your holiday will be visiting Go Ape at Thetford Forest. You’ll get to traverse the treetops on rope bridges, high wires, zip lines and even a Tarzan swing!

At the end of every action packed day return to your spacious holiday cottage and reflect on a day well spent. Watermere Barn is a conversion all on one floor, with three bedrooms, a shower room, kitchen and large open-plan sitting/dining area. Outside is a lawn and patio with garden furniture and barbecue, ideal for long summer evenings.

For your chance to win a break for six people and your Go Ape Tree Top Adventure tickets, visit our Active Norfolk Breaks Page. And don’t forget we have plenty more active holidays for you and excellent cottages in the glorious county of Norfolk.
