Enjoy Brighton like a local – find out the city’s best kept secrets

#secretbrighton

Our team at Best of Brighton has over 25 years experience of living and working in the city. Over this time we have discovered many useful tips and tricks!

So, here is a list of our favourite hidden gems to help you act like a local!

How To Get Around

The best part of staying in Brighton is that once you’ve arrived everything you would need is simply on your doorstep. Almost everything you could possibly need is within walking distance.

The public transport is pretty easy to navigate, we would recommend downloading the Brighton and Hove Bus app to save on your tickets, as well as, helping you plan your route.

If you’re looking for a speedy way to explore Brighton check out our city’s bike share scheme. Download the BTN BikeShare’s Social Bicycles app, find a docking station (located all along the seafront) and start pedaling, simple! While you’ve got the bike why not follow the coastal cycle path eastwards from Brighton’s seafront to the village of Rottingdean! The route is a round trip of 10 miles from Central Brighton and ride is mostly flat.

The Best Dog Walking Spots

If you fancying taking a day trip out of Brighton visit the South Downs National Park, Seven Sisters Country Park, it is made up of 280 hectares of chalk cliffs, the view is breathtaking! While you’re there refuel at the cafe, Saltmarsh Farmhouse, it is great for tea and cake.

Where To Get Coffee

According to the Guardian, Brightonians are the biggest coffee drinkers in the UK and we’d like to think it’s because we have an abundance of five star independent coffee shops. Our office favourite is The Black Mocha (situated on Gloucester Road) and it seems the rest of Brighton agrees as it was voted 2nd Best Place in Brighton for Coffee in 2018!

Our Best Produce

If you’re looking to take home a souvenir, why not treat yourself to Brighton’s Gin, distilled besides the seaside! The gin is made in the UK, organic and vegan, what’s not to love? Try it out first in one of the local pubs!

Best Sunday Roast in Brighton

If you’re wondering where all the locals go for Sunday lunch look no further than The Brighton Beer Dispensary pub. With its excellent selection of beer and incredible quality grub, it’s not hard to see why it’s so popular!

Where to Shop

Visit Brighton’s biggest antiques store, Snoopers Paradise, which is twenty eight years old! Here you can browse the quirky and innovative stalls selling clothes, jewellery, bizarre knick knacks and so much more! All the stalls are independently owned adding to the unique shopping experience!

If you truly wish to experience Brighton like a local there is no better way than to stay in one of our amazing self catering properties!
