There are hundreds of things to do in The Lake District, but it doesn’t stop local businesses making new and ever more exciting activities for us all to enjoy. The ‘Tree Top Trek‘ at Brockhole is a fantastic addition for 2012. Similar to ‘Go Ape’ in Grizedale, it offers individuals or families the opportunity to see the grounds around Brockhole (on the A591 between Windermere & Ambleside) from a whole new perspective. 35 different challenges await as you swing, climb, balance and zip through the woodland canopy.

Designed to cater for a range of fitness and ability levels there are 2 different options to choose from. For younger or less confident trekkers the ‘Green trek’ is a shorter course finishing with a descent down the ‘Triple Zip’ to finish. For those of you wanting to spend longer in the trees the full course takes about 2 hrs and also finishes with a trip down the ‘Triple Zip’ line (where you can race your friends/family). Adult prices start at £17 per person for the ‘Green Trek’ (£14 for kids). The full course costs £26 for adults and £19 for kids. There is a 10% discount for groups of 4 or more.

Brockhole also has a large outdoor kids play area, + extensive grounds where your (well-behaved) dog is welcome. There’s also a visitors centre and Tea-room, (dogs are welcome in the exhibition and shop, and on the outside terrace of the tea room) :-)
