Holiday Cottages in Jedburgh

Jedburgh is often regarded as the bonniest of all the towns in the Scottish Borders region, and is home to an array of attractions, both ancient and new. We have a range of holiday cottages in Jedburgh, including dog friendly accommodation, should you wish to bring your four-legged friend to explore the hidden gems of Jedburgh. We also offer a selection of holiday homes in the nearby towns of Melrose and Kelso, two more jewels of the Scottish Borders area.

Jedburgh is home to one of Scotland’s most ancient and magnificent Augustine Abbeys. The Abbey, which was opened by King David I in the twelfth century is one of the best-preserved in the country and is arguably Jedburgh’s main attraction, alongside a range of medieval and early modern historic buildings. Another of the sights is Mary Queen of Scot’s house. Mary came to stay in Jedburgh in the year of 1566 at a critical point in her power struggle with Queen Elizabeth I, as this was just two years before she travelled to England and would become accused of plotting to assassinate the Queen. Today, the house is incredibly well-preserved and has a collection of items and paintings that help tell the story of Scotland’s most famous Queen.

Mary Queen of Scot’s stay is also credited with helping shape Jedburgh into the little upmarket town that it remains today. Jedburgh has a fantastic assortment of shops, cafes, and restaurants and many love to spend a day or two just wandering about the town. There are a number of great fine dining spots in Jedburgh too, should you fancy an extra special holiday meal out to remember.

Other major attractions and events in Jedburgh include the town’s medieval castle and the Jedburgh Festival, which sees one of the Border’s most famous traditions, the ‘ride-outs’, which have occurred here since 1500. The ride-outs see horseback processions through the streets of Jedburgh between May and July of every year and are an absolute must-see if you’re holidaying during this time.

So book your stay in Jedburgh with us today and get ready to experience the very best of Scottish tradition, the Borders’ history and much more.
