Derwentwater is a widely popular holiday destination, which boasts everything from local water sports and walks to a theatre by the lake and waterside cafés. The abundance of things to do and places to stop for a relaxing break makes Derwentwater an ideal place to visit, whether you are looking to enjoy an active holiday or would rather simply unwind and enjoy the scenery over a refreshing drink. 

Despite being a relatively small town, Keswick itself is home to a great selection of local shops, places to eat and drink and public parks. The Keswick Brewing Company is a popular destination offering excellent local ales from its bar and shop, as well as fascinating tours. The Alhambra Cinema and Keswick museum are great attractions for evenings or rainy days out, while those looking to get outdoors might want to consider the nearby Go Ape adventure park in Whinlatter or local boat launches.
