Arranged on three levels, it has wooden floors, a vaulted ceiling with impressive 'A' frame oak beams and two balconies with views of the Lynmouth coastline and the valley rising towards Watersmeet. Also on the first floor are two bedrooms and a shower room. The triple aspect master bedroom has a super king bed which can be converted to a twin on request and the twin bedded room has lovely sea views. An attractive double room with iron bedstead and a generous size bathroom with roll top bath and built in power shower cubicle are also on this floor.

Weve stayed several times, and will again. The location is great, and the cottage stays nice and cool. Agree with some other reviewers that its starting to look a bit tired in places. The front door definitely needs replacing/refurbing. But still one of the best places to stay.

Couldn't fault the place at all... A fantastic property, location, facilities & spotless for arrival. A real gem, we can recommend enough. The views were spectacular. There's a wonderful fireplace and everything you need for a comfortable relaxing holiday. Wish we'd stayed longer

Lovely views and great location. Kitchen is in a different level to dining room so a bit tricky with little kids but manageable. Unfortunately cleanliness was an issue for us.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Ferndale since 2012 and we love the property. It is well placed, well kitted out and beautifully presented. We hope to return in the future.

This part of North Devon is lovely, scenic and quiet. Lynmouth is a lovely quiet, friendly, victorian-type seaside small town with a harbour, greens to stroll on and lots of walks to Watersmeet, Lynton, along the coastal path or the Moors Way depending on how adventurous you are. the funicular railway is fab and there is also a shuttle bus up to Read moreLynton at the top of the 'hill' where you can find more restaurants. If you travel a bit then there is the Valley of the Rocks, Lynmouth steam train, Ilfracombe, etc all to discover. The house has lovely open views over the sea and town from the top floor and more restricted ones from the lower floor. Balconies on both floors are fab. The kitchen/breakfast area is spacious and the upstairs lounge/dining area is very spacious and comfy with plenty of seats and sofas - so no competition about who sits where! It's just a few minutes to walk into Lynmouth. The convenience stores are at the top of the hill in Lynton so plan accordingly. We were there early/mid-July and found the car parking fine. While there are tourist visitors, these tend to thin out late afternoon leaving plenty of space for parking. Hide

Weve stayed in quite a few Lynmouth cottages, and this by far is the best - great view, nice and quiet, everything you need. Perfect for our family and dogs. The front door lock needs sweet talking to open, but everything else is spot on. Well be back.

Ferndale House is ideally situated for walkers. Once in Lynmouth you needn't use your car for the week. Comfortable, warm and well equipped. There is a steep approach to the property and two flights of stairs within so less mobile people might struggle. This was my second visit to this property with my dog. I will certainly return to Ferndale HouseRead more. Hide
