The Lodge is a fine example of a Victorian estate cottage, once the gatehouse to the Grade II listed Plas Boduan. In a lovely location in the heart of the Llyn Peninsula at Boduan, surrounded by unspoilt countryside yet within easy reach of the beaches at Morfa Nefyn 3 miles, Abersoch 9 miles, and the popular town of Pwllheli 4 miles.

The cottage: this pretty C19 cottage is all on one level and has a large extension to the rear which gives a light and spacious lounge. Wooden style flooring throughout and central heating.

Sitting room: has sliding glass doors on two sides, opening to the natural woodland garden and secluded hot tub. There is ample comfortable seating-including a bed settee, a wood burning stove (with initial logs provided), Smart TV/WiFi, a sound system and even a piano.

Kitchen: the separate kitchen diner has a dishwasher, washing machine, built in electric oven, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave and hob. There is a breakfast bar with stools and a dining area with antique table and chairs.

Bedrooms: there are two delightful ground floor bedrooms both with the original leaded windows, one with a good quality king size bed and one with twin beds. Both rooms have coordinated bedroom furniture and attractive furnishings.

Bathroom: this gorgeous modern bathroom has a luxurious free standing bath, and large shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Outside: the hot tub is on the secluded patio to the rear surrounded by wild garden and woodland. The sheltered patio with table and chairs is a sun trap, the perfect place for relaxing, again surrounded by wild unkempt garden.

Please Note: The paths around the cottage are uneven and sometimes slippy due the woodland location.  The mobile signal is weak.

Nice comfortable and warm cottage with large, modern bathroom. Helpful and pleasant owner. The dogs loved the safe garden and the patio was sheltered and sunny, there is a bit of road noise but not continuous. Beds very comfortable. We didn't find the road at all safe for "walking from the property" with 2 dogs and there were no walking footpathsRead more "on our doorstep" as claimed on the website. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location and is a great place to switch off and relax for a few days. The surroundings are lovely and quiet (excepting the close main road), and the hot tub is a fantastic feature, especially in the evenings. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The cottage itself is comfortable and well suited to a relaxing break away from busy everyday life. One thing worth noting for future guests is that mobile phone signal in the cottage is non-existent, which does add to the getting away from it all feeling. The internet connection is quite slow, so its best suited for light browsing rather than streaming or working online. This probably wont matter for most people who are there to enjoy the peace and quiet, but its something to be aware of if you rely on internet access. A couple of small practical things could be improved, such as the responsiveness of the TV and instructions for the hot tub controls, but nothing that stopped us enjoying our stay. Overall this is a lovely countryside cottage thats perfect if youre looking for somewhere quiet to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Hide

Cottage was comfortable and relaxing, lovely listening to all the birds in the garden. Beds comfortable, WiFi intermittent, but mostly ok. Some traffic noise, but not disruptive at all.

A wonderful place to escape and enjoy the slower pace of life - beautiful coastal and hill walks nearby and then the luxury of getting into a wonderfully secluded hot tub on return was the icing on the cake - the hot tub is positioned well so that even in the rain, your heads can stay dry and looking at the stars from it was bliss - would highly reRead morecommend Hide

We had a lovely time on our holiday at lodge. We visited barmouth beach, black rock sands and drove to Angel bay to see the seals! The property is lacking on a few things but was warm and comfortable (apart from the bed). The hot tub was a nice luxury and after walking all day helped with aching muscles.
