We had a really lovely week at Cedars Lodge. The accommodation was clean, cosy and very well equipped. Would recommend trips to Clovelly, Northam Burrows, Baggy Point, Watersmeet and Lynmouth - all excellent dog walking places. Of all the pubs/restaurants we found the Quay at Instow to be the best (dry dogs only allowed in the restaurant). Thanks sRead moreo much to Steve and Gale for their excellent communication and their presentation of the cottage. Hide

Cedars Lodge is very comfortable, spacious, warm and beautifully equipped. There was not a thing we needed that couldn't be found, and the comprehensive property information folder answered any queries. Our greyhound was pleased to have a secure garden, which meant that his routines could carry on as normal, and he settled in very well. When we wanRead moret to return to this area of Devon again, we would definitely try to book another stay at Cedars Lodge. Hide

Most of our many holidays over more than 50 years have been in self-catering accommodation - both in the UK and abroad. I think that Cedars Lodge is probably the best equipped and most comfortable we have stayed at. Entrance is through the kitchen, which is spacious and with everything even the most demanding of cooks might need: cooker with infraRead more red hob, dishwasher, microwave oven, stick blender etc etc. The stock of cutlery and crockery is very generous for a two-person accommodation. The end of the kitchen has an area containing a breakfast bar and the washing machine/dryer. Our two rescue dogs were very happy to be bedded down in this snug space. The kitchen has a door leading into a square area in the middle of the house, with a coat stand, cabinet and doors leading into the bedroom, bathroom and lounge. The spacious bathroom has a wet-room style shower and heated towel rail, plus the usual. The bedroom has a king-sized bed with a firm, comfortable mattress, and fitted cupboards, drawers and dressing tables. Each side of the bed has a small cabinet and bright bedside light. The lounge has a leather covered suite comprising a three seat and two seat settees, plus and armchair. The TV provides Sky, Netflix and Prime. The broadband WiFi worked well. A windowed door from the lounge leads to the dining/sun lounge area which faces South East, with views over the hillside beyond, so it gets a lot of sun in the morning and is a nice spot to have afternoon tea. There is a dining table with four chairs. The windows have blinds for use in case the sun gets too powerful. The sun lounge has a door leading onto the patio area, which has tables and chairs for al fresco dining and a fire pit style barbecue. The grassy area is a bit smaller than it might appear from the pictures of the property, but perfectly adequate for dogs to do what dogs need to do. Overall, the accommodation is to a very high standard. It is warm, comfortable, pleasing to the eye and surprisingly spacious for just two people. The friendly owners, live in the attached house and gave us a very warm welcome as well as much useful advice about the local area. There are a dozen or so beaches and country walks within half an hour's drive, great places to eat, supermarkets, pubs and tea rooms for traditional Devon cream teas with mega-scones (but don't forget: cream on first, then the jam!) Cedars Lodge is a lovely place to stay because, not only has it got everything you would need for a lovely holiday, but it is also close to Westward Ho! and Bideford to enable visitors to walk there. But the owners who live on the site, are the most pleasant and helpful couple.

Bungalow is clean, cosy, warm and well equipped. Had a goods night sleep in comfy bed. Lots of products on offer , toilet roll, kitchen towel etc so no need to bring too much. The views are amazing and we had great weather for April. We did find lounge furniture a bit low and soft for us due to mobility issues but may be fine for others.

We visited the cottage in January and of prime importance for us was to be warm and comfortable and to know that the dogs were welcome and catered for. We were not disappointed in any way. This cottage is in a super location for exploring the local area. It has several large dog friendly beaches nearby. The accommodation was amazing, very tastefuRead morelly and comfortably furnished. It was spotlessly clean had a large comfy bed, plenty of hot water and everything you could need was provided. The garden was small but well fenced. The hosts were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed. Fabulous place to stay Hide
