Egton Bridge
Egton Bridge is a charming village situated in between Glaisdale and Grosmont, and eight miles away from the harbour town of "Captain Cook's" Whitby, in a beautiful river setting with ancient stepping stones crossing the Esk. This picturesque village is situated one mile south of Egton, at the bottom of the steep-sided valley on the route of the River Esk Walk. The villages celebrate two annual shows each summer, the Egton Agricultural Show, one of the largest in the country, and the annual Gooseberry Show. Egton Bridge also hosts an annual Postgate Rally in honour of the blessed Nicholas Postgate, a martyr who was born here and was executed for practicing his faith in 1679

Lovely comfortable ,well equipped cottage. Well maintained large garden and the cottage is spotless. It's in a perfect location to explore this beautiful area and has WiFi, which is not often available in this area. We would be happy to recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Esk Valley.

Update listing that parking/unloading is a nightmare outside, road is too narrow for traffic to pass we had to move our car four times to end of road to turn round and return to unload. Seating in longe is past its use by date, tv/sky was unusable, instructions scrawled on piece of paper, handsets did not sync. We only stayed three nights and retuRead morerned home, very disappointed! Hide

Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. Less than a minute walk to the river and stepping stones. Our dog loved playing in the river and garden. We loved our stay at the cottage.... it is so cosy and picturesque. Cottage was nice and clean, with everything we needed in the kitchen. Nice bath and shower along with a separate toilet which was useRead moreful. A great base to explore the area from. Lots of places to visit within 10-15min drive. Lovely pubs nearby. We really would have liked to stay longer and would recommend to friends. I hope we get to stay there again. The decor is alittle out dated but this was not an issue whatsoever. Hide

This cottage was a last minute replacement to our original booking due to flooding. We were very pleased with the arrangement of a new property and was able to start our holiday as planned in the area of our choice. We did compromise on having two double beds instead of a double and 2 twins but this was a minor inconvenience.
