Egton Bridge
Egton Bridge is a charming village situated in between Glaisdale and Grosmont, and eight miles away from the harbour town of "Captain Cook's" Whitby, in a beautiful river setting with ancient stepping stones crossing the Esk. This picturesque village is situated one mile south of Egton, at the bottom of the steep-sided valley on the route of the River Esk Walk. The villages celebrate two annual shows each summer, the Egton Agricultural Show, one of the largest in the country, and the annual Gooseberry Show. Egton Bridge also hosts an annual Postgate Rally in honour of the blessed Nicholas Postgate, a martyr who was born here and was executed for practicing his faith in 1679
