Spindrift is a beautifully refurbished, semi-detached house, which is located in Mortehoe village and within walking distance of Rockham Bay and Morte Point. With great sea views, a decked patio, outside shower and enclosed lawned garden, it offers superb holiday living for six people and two dogs. The large open-plan living/kitchen/diner room has comfy leather settees, a large dining table capable of seating the whole group together and floor to ceiling patio doors opening out onto the decked patio. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a home-cooked meal and its nearby utility room has a useful extra sink. A shower room completes the accommodation downstairs whilst upstairs there three good-sized bedrooms – one with an en-suite shower room and one with a private balcony – and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, Spindrift has a large drive capable of parking four cars and a fantastic outdoor space which includes a lawn, decked patio and an outdoor shower.

Mortehoe village centre with its Norman Church is a short stroll away and has two pubs, chip shop, takeaway, bistro and tearooms.  There is also a Post Office, village store and children's play area in the grounds of Mortehoe Heritage centre which recounts the areas rich maritime history.  Mortehoe is the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Just south of the village lying at the foot of the cliffs, and reached only on foot, is Grunta beach.  This hidden gem is great for swimming and rockpooling.  Another great beach nearby is Barricane beach just on the outskirts of the village. It’s a sandy cove perfect for families with low ledges that are great for jumping off. There’s also the wonderful, but seasonal, Barricane Beach café, serving up the distinctly un-Devon flavours of Sri Lanka.

A beautiful place to stay. Everything you could possibly need is catered for, even for the dog! We loved sitting outside, as all you could hear were the birds. Thank you for the bottle of fizz too! We will definitely consider staying here again.

A lovely cottage in fabulous condition, immaculate through out. It had everything you could possibly need for a family holiday, even treats for our dog. It was great to have a bottle of prosecco to enjoy on arrival. The location is excellent for a walk along the coastal path or a gentle walk down to the local pubs .

A lovely property within easy reach of coastal walks, beaches & popular North Devon destinations. The property is lovely & is well equipped. Mortehoe has a couple of pubs & places to get something to eat & the shop at the campsite, a short walk from the property, is well stocked & also sells coffee & great fresh baked pastries & cakes.

This was a lovely cottageJust a heads up that the correct key safe is located on the left porch post as you enter the cottage. Also take great care with the sliding bathroom doors.I managed to get locked in and with no windows a very scary experience. We locked no doors after that.My daughter in law who works for a letting agent has experience of tRead morehese doors and said they can be a problem. If the owners have not rectified this as I did point it out.Take great care with the doormat outside the living room doors on the decking as it slides and I still nearly had an accident even when I knew as my daughter warned me.Also when confronted by an iPad which we couldnt work,I was a bit upset thinking that all instructors were on that but there is in fact a book of useful information and the Wi-Fi password is posted up on a kitchen cupboard. On the whole a lovely cottage,,the village has everything you need. The cottage is close to the coast path .Grunts beach is lovely at low tide. The final steps down were a bit challenging but with a bit of help this 70 year old made it down. We stayed here as a group of 2 couples. The living area was cramped, with the dining table right up against the sofa. This meant there was no way to have a conversation without disturbing what the others were doing or being overheard. The open staircase caused the same issue at night if we didn't all go to bed at the same time, because noise traRead morevelled straight from downstairs into the bedrooms above. This meant the tv had to be turned off when the first person went upstairs to bed. On the plus side, the house is well equipped and the beds were really comfy. Pity the village grocery store has shut down, we had to drive quite a way to get to the nearest supermarket for fresh food. Location is great for walks straight from the door. Hide

Lovely property, very well equipped and located close to village for food and a few drinks. Village also has a PO for newspapers and we can recommend the Fish & Chip shop and takeaway. Easy walk to Woolacombe but a bit of a climb back. Plenty of parking but only slight downside was its a bit awkward to get out of if you have a big car.
