Situated in the centre of the picture postcard village of Blisland, which lies on the western edge of Bodmin Moor, Churchtown Cottage overlooks the village green, with its play area, and is next to The Blisland Inn, famous with locals and walkers for its dog-friendly approach, welcoming service, delicious food and real ales. Blisland has its own successful community store - The Glebe - providing post office facilities, a range of groceries, local produce, light refreshments and internet cafe.

The surrounding area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and anyone wanting a peaceful break but still within a reasonable distance of the north Cornwall towns of Tintagel, Port Isaac, Wadebridge, Padstow and the popular surfing beach of Polzeath. Churchtown Cottage is a typical example of a cosy cottage with thick, granite walls, beamed ceilings, exposed floorboards, quirky features and a wood-burning stove. We really loved the cottage and it's location and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It felt homely and was a very much needed break away and we would love to come back in the future. The village shop was great as was the pub. And the people we met in the village were extremely welcoming & friendly - would definitely recommend!!

This lovely old cottage is exactly that, old. Its full of character and creaky floorboards. The beds are comfortable and both showers are good. If you love rustic charm in a beautiful village (with the only village green in Cornwall) next door to a pub serving cracking ale and delicious food, this is highly recommended.

This is a charming property in a fabulous, peaceful setting. We liked the pub next door as it was very sociable and pleasant, although there is a bit of expected noise from drinkers in the evening. Overall the property was really good and well equipped, although we did have some gripes about the level of cleanliness and state of repair of some itemRead mores. For example, our bed linen seemed clean, but the pillow protectors were filthy so we laundered them ourselves. The property is old and has quite a musty smell, though unlike other reviewers we found it easy to open most of the windows which helped. The dining room and lounge are good and worked well for us, and the kitchen is pleasant and very well equipped. We went in high summer, which helped a lot with getting laundry dry as there is no tumble drier, which I think could be added for convenience. We we obliged to switch on the storage heater in the utility space to help dry things on the clothes horses. It's convenient and thoughtful that stair gates are provided at the top of the stairs but they are very old and broken and not safe enough, and they need to be replaced immediately in my view. It was also poor that the caretaker could not be contacted to help with some information I wanted. These negatives are outweighed by the positives though, which are that this is a wonderful characterful property in a perfect peaceful location. Our children loved the swings on the green opposite and we all really enjoyed the village with its charm, friendliness and community vibe. Hide

Lovely cottage in a nice little village, it had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay and was good value for money. Lovely, spacious, well equipped cottage with a super new bathroom and kitchen. Situated in a quaint village in central Cornwall making it ideal for visiting lots of places and with a lovely pub next door. The negatives were, the garden is very overgrown and neglected, none of the windows open which makes it very hot and stuffy.

This is a very spacious and comfy cottage, conveniently located between the north and south coasts of Cornwall, a short drive from attractions including Tintagel Castle, Port Isaac, The Eden Project and so on. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to explore the eastern part of Cornwall.
