Trades off its harbour view location. Otherwise it's small and missing basic touches that you expect from a holiday rental, such as more than one toilet roll, hand soap in a dispenser, more than one towel per person, a hook to hang coats, somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom, a shelf in the shower for products. Basic as it gets and overpriced. Read moreVery small property, if you had a cat don't swing it in the bathroom. If you're easily disturbed then the music from the bar and background noise will need to be considered, as will trying to access the property via a collection of drunk revellers blocking the access door via an alley filled with all manner of junk and debris. All round, overpriced and poor. Hide

This visit was my third in six months so should say it all. I was worried about my first visit after reading the reviews about noise from pub below, yes the was very bad but only for three hours Friday and Saturday night. The amazing position of the property for than compensated for a little noise problem. When I arrived for this holiday I was amRead moreazed at the change, it had under gone a total transformation. All the old furniture had been replaced by lovely top quality fittings and fixtures. I was very impressed to find problems I pointed out on my second visit had all been rectified, a lot of money had been spent and it showed. I instantly rebooked to return in a few months, wish it could be sooner but commitments don't allow it. Hide

Wonderful accomodation wth probably one of the best views imaginable from the small balcony. The reviews all mention the terrible noise from the pub below and yes it's bad but only from 21.00 to midnight Saturday in my opinion it was a small inconvenience compensated by staying in a really comfort apartment. The bed is definitely on of the most coRead moremfortable I have ever slept in. Hide

So incredibly noisy. We were aware of its location to the bar, but thumping drum and base music until the early hours was too much

Long story short, we wont be staying at Copper Kettle again unfortunately. Weve stayed at 1 Copper Kettle at least 3 times previously, all previous stays have been incredibly enjoyable which has obviously made us return. Whilst I appreciate the price we paid is on the low end for St Ives, especially given the location, the below points should beRead more taken into consideration before booking. We didnt read the reviews about the noise as weve stayed here before but well be more careful to next time. Weve never experienced such noise disturbance from the crab shack downstairs. I can only assume that its changed hands which is a shame for Copper Kettle and I can sympathise with you as owners as its a detriment to the property. Sound proofing does now need to be considered or having a word with the restaurant (as it used to be one, it only now seems to have turned into a youth club / nightclub). Thumping music on Fridays and Saturdays until midnight, then the noise from whoever is cleaning up afterwards. Then the alarm getting set as they leave at 2am. Loud music also on Monday, Wednesday or whenever they feel like it. Hide

When I booked I knew it wouldnt be a peaceful stay as below is music every night..if your someone who doesn't mind noise until midnight or take ear plugs then it's fine but I wouldn't recommend for someone who wants a completely relaxing stay the positive side is the balcony is great and your right on the front.

Please do not ignore the bad reviews - I did not heed them- we have never left a bad review before - but I need to warn you: the noise from the bar beneath the apartment was understated (in the previous reviews) we love St.Ives and realised it would be noisy during the summer but never imagined how bad it would be to stay in this apartment. If you Read morehave booked this I would suggest you cancel. The reviews regarding the noise were understated. There is no soundproofing- nothing between the ceiling of the bar and the floor of the apartment- all the walls act like an amplifier meaning you can not escape the constant sounds emitting from below- this reached 61 decibels on Saturday night within the apartment (the bar is know to locals as a nightclub on Friday/Saturdays- playing Ibiza type music- we did not experience the Friday because we had booked Sat-Thurs - we feel sorry for the person staying after us). The noise did not stop on closing - the staff played music whilst they cleared up until 1.30-2.30am and there is noise whilst opening early morning, and whilst alarms are being set. If they were to install soundproofing this would be a lovely apartment (although the showroom/toilet is tiny). I complained on the Sunday morning in the hope we could be moved to other accommodation to enable us to enjoy our holiday - but I was told the owner would not release us due to the statement in the listing warning it is above a bar with a music licence - this does not describe the reality of the extensive non stop noise from the base music and vibrations through the floor and all walls.
