Property code: OC-COMBE

Occupying the whole of the middle floor of an impressive detached house overlooking Woolacombe Bay, Combesgate is a lovely two bedroom apartment sleeping four people and a dog. Situated in an elevated position on the outskirts of Mortehoe, Combesgate has a level patio cut into the sloping hillside gardens which overlooks the sea and has a picnic bench as well as outside rattan-style comfortable seats.  The apartment has its own private entrance via some external steps through a large porch which provides plenty of storage space. The light and airy lounge/diner has windows overlooking the rolling hills out towards the distant headlands and Lundy Island and the dining area is well-positioned to make the most of them. The kitchen/breakfast room also has the same views and there is an additional circular kitchen table for an alternative dining location. Both the bedrooms are spacious, with one having flexibility thanks to zip ‘n’ link beds. A family bathroom and a separate cloakroom complete the accommodation. There is a private parking space for one car and a level private patio with garden furniture. Combesgate is just a few minutes’ uphill walk away from Mortehoe with its pubs, tearooms, cafes, fish and chip shop and village shop. For walkers, there is a spectacular jaunt from Mortehoe that offers some of the very best coastal views and rock formations of any stretch of the South West Coast Path. Head north-east out of Mortehoe to Bull Point, then cut south-west along the coast path, taking in Rockham Beach and Morte Point. Gaze out across the sea to Lundy Island and inland at the extraordinary rock formations that bear more than a striking resemblance to the spiky armour of a stegosaurus.

A few minutes’ drive brings you down into Woolacombe where you can enjoy a stroll along the 3 miles of award winning golden sands, surf or indulge in the choice of restaurants and cafes available.

Has a lovely holiday in Combsgate apartment, stunning location and views, would stay again although I would recommend some time tidying up outside would make the outdoor experience better - cut back the briars and some better outdoor furniture
