This beautifully converted barn sleeping six people and two dogs is situated in stunning countryside near the small village of Muddiford. With its own private hot tub, three pretty bedrooms and a spacious open-plan living and kitchen area, House Martins is perfect for large families or couples wanting to holiday together. Much of the traditional character of the barn has been retained during the restoration and exposed beams, oak doors and slate floors blend in well with a modern bathroom and up to date woodburning stove.

House Martins is located down a quiet country lane within the grounds of the owner’s Georgian country mansion and can be rented out along with its sister property, Oriel, for groups of up to eleven people. The property is well-located to enjoy the stunning scenery of North Devon and there are plenty of ways to enjoy it – there’s the South West Coast Path for walking, amazing beaches to relax on, horse riding centres and bike hire companies.

The well-known Muddiford Inn is three miles from House Martins and just on the outskirts of Muddiford itself is Broomhill Art Hotel and Sculpture Gardens - a fascinating and beautiful place to visit, set in tranquil, rural woodland. About six miles from the cottage is the town of Barnstaple - the commercial and agricultural centre of North Devon. This charming town comfortably blends a handsome past with an energetic, present-day buzz. It’s the shopping capital of the region, with a mix of cutting-edge retail outlets, long-established family owned stores and little boutiques and in the pannier market, local food producers (interspersed with dozens of cafes to rest weary shoppers’ legs!).  At weekends, Barnstaple makes wandering the streets a distinct pleasure, with performers and musicians out to entertain.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful location.. Beds were super comfy, very quiet at night and the hot tub was enjoyed after our long days out. Would definitely stay here again and the added bonus was that we could bring our dog. Wish we'd booked for longer than a week as there is so much to do in the area.

We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks at House Martins. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for six of us. The garden was a good size and, being secure, was perfect for our dog and granddaughter. The hot tub was a very welcome addition and was kept in good, clean working order throughout our stay. The on site hostsRead more were very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for the beautiful beaches of Woolacombe and Saunton Sands, as well as local towns and other activities. House Martins is lovely cottage with a fabulous hot tub. Very comfortable beds, along with the peace and quiet makes for a great nights sleep. Great for dogs too.

Property was very well equipped to feel like home from home. Very clean and well kept. Hot tub was the cleanest we have ever had on a holiday. Gardens secure and well maintained. Host was extremely helpful and friendly. The 8ft gap in to the car parking area looks smaller than actually is but plenty of room to park and turn the car around even wheRead moren both cottages are in use. I would recommend this property and location to anybody looking to explore the coast, lots of places to visit.
