Cedar Tree Cottage is an attractive annexe to the owners' delightful B&B (The Old Rectory), in Clocaenog, just 4 miles from the historic market town of Ruthin in beautiful, rural North Wales.

The cottage is newly refurbished, furnished and fitted out to a high standard.  The open-plan living area is lovely and light with windows on both sides. It comprises a sofa and armchair, Smart/Freeview TV and WiFi, a dining table and two chairs, and a fitted kitchen area with a breakfast bar and two stools, and including a washing machine, dishwasher and under-counter fridge/freezer.  There is also a modern ground floor wet room.  Upstairs is the bedroom with a king size bed and sloping ceilings and velux windows.  The cottage has Air Source Pump under floor heating throughout. To the rear is a private, enclosed lawned garden with a patio, garden furniture and barbecue. Guests are also able to enjoy the lovely garden surrounding the property and can have home cooked meals in the B&B or delivered to the cottage, by arrangement, at extra charge.

This is an excellent location for walking in Clocaenog Forest, Hiraethog and Clwydian Hills, mountain biking and watersports at Llyn Brenig. Ruthin itself boasts a castle hosting medieval banquets, a popular craft centre, and Ruthin Gaol visitor centre. A short drive takes you to Betws-y-Coed in the Snowdonia National Park or the pretty town of Llangollen with its Canal Museum, horse-drawn narrow boat trips, boat hire, and the Llangollen Railway (steam train rides). This is an ideal location for experiencing the variety of activities that the area has to offer, with Chester, Wrexham, and the North Wales coast within an hour's drive.

I would put this cottage in the top two or three if rating all the properties I have stayed in over the past 30 years. It is in a delightful location, quite remote, quiet and is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The owners were helpful and knowledgeable about the area and there are lots of excellent visitor attractions within a short drive.

This is a little Gem in beautiful North Wales. Very clean and well equipped. The garden is beautiful secluded area we enjoyed our Bar B Que. But it is not gated so for young children or pets they can 'get out' by the side of the house. Owners are quick to respond to queries. Parking outside. No phone reception because the cottage is in a valley buRead moret you can use the house WiFi connection to keep in touch and share your photos! Hide

Perfect retreat to recharge the proverbial batteries and felt very much at home and delightfully comfortable and relaxed. Great location in the wonderful scenery and close to civilization too. Gem of a rural retreat and as General Douglas MacArthur said, I shall return.

We were made very welcome by the owner of the cottage and nothing was too much trouble for her when we needed her help. The cottage was lovely and clean and had everything that we needed for our stay.

The host was the ideal host. Theyre when we needed her and not when we were just relaxing. Her property was spotless and very comfortable. We would definitely return.
