Sleeping up to eight guests, and suitable for a large family or two families together, the four-bedroom retreat is on the fringes of Ludham, 14 miles from Norwich and 8 miles from the sandy beach at Winterton, where you can swim in the sea and sometimes spot seals. Head 2.5 miles to Potter Heigham to hire cruisers to take out on the Broads. Plan trips into Norwich to shop in independent and high street stores, dine out in restaurants and visit the castle, cathedral and provision market. Take the children to the woodland theme park of Bewilderwood, 4 miles away.

Wander into this inviting cottage to find accommodation featuring exposed beams and brickwork. Head into the lounge to light the wood burner in the inglenook fireplace and relax in front of the TV in its cosy ambience. Make your way into the snug, where there is also comfortable seating, plus another TV and a CD player. When mealtimes beckon, wander through to the long kitchen to prepare a tasty meal for your party. Find you have an electric double oven, an electric hob and a microwave. There is also a dishwasher in here, as well as a fridge and freezer. Watch the TV while you cook or listen to the radio/CD player. Sit down to eat together in the dining room with its decorative fireplace. Find you also have a ground-floor WC. Discover one twin and three double bedrooms on the first floor. One of the doubles is accessed via the twin room or a ship’s ladder from the snug. Please supervise children on the ladder. One of these doubles has an additional single bed and another comes with a TV. There are also two family bathrooms, one with a bath, shower and WC, and the other with a bath, handheld shower and WC. Please note there is some restricted head height upstairs due to the age of the property. A utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is accessed externally.

The cottage was beautiful. Had all the equipment you could think of. Nice surprise with the Prosecco and milk. Our 4 year old granddaughter had a whale of a time in the lovely garden. Great to see the deer and rabbits in the field. Two deer even came in the garden on night! Pretty central for most places. Thank you very much for a great stayRead more, would love to come again! The property is lovely and every much as described although from the photos it's not clear that the thatched part and the tiled roof part are all the same property and you get the whole thing. It could be a semi detached cottage but that is not the case. It was on a very quiet street and several times deer would wander in the field next to the houRead morese. It was also fun to look out over the fields and see sailing boats go past in the distance. Many technical things in the house were difficult to understand and I think non-brits would struggle. Most in our party were from Finland with just me from the UK and I had to explain many things to them. Recycling is not explained and how things are distributed across two colour coded bins (very confusing if you're from a country where recyclable items are kept separate, not combined for the council to separate out again later). The heating needed some adjustment. The toaster was difficult to use and gave uneven results (now that i'm home I think running it once empty would pre-heat it and give more consistent toasting). The dishwasher gave terrible results at first with everything having a chalky feel. I had to download instructions from the internet and change the salt setting, since it was set for the default soft water, not the very hard water present in Norfolk. After that it gave much better results. The very hard tap water meant that tea looked turbid and I had to assure my fellow travellers that it was because of the hard water in the east of England and not some fault with the water supply or the kettle. The TV and digibox were not that easy to understand and different models would make it easier for visitors to use. The guest comments book had about 30% of the comments related to the TV! Customer service from holiday cottages was not that good. You cannot contact the owner directly until shortly before your stay, so I asked them if there was a hair dryer and they said no. When we arrived there was a hair dryer. I think they just looked at the web listing (which I could have done myself) rather than check with the owner or have any detailed knowledge of the property. Beautiful large property suitable for large parties/families. The garden was really lovely and with 3 small grandchildren it was a godsend when we returned from a day out. They could run around and make noise without disturbing anyone else. The property itself is very well equipped. Location was perfect for us and Ludham itself is a lovely little vRead moreillage. We had a fabulous holiday at St Bennetts last week. There were seven adults in our group and there was plenty of space for us all. I could see that the cottage was set up really well for children too and would make an excellent base for a multigenerational group holiday. We loved the fact that the location was so quiet and there were a group of thrRead moreee deer who visited the field behind us every morning and evening - an added bonus. It was a great base for us to explore Norfolk and we made the most of the broads, the quiet lanes for cycling and the local beaches. Hide

The house is in a very peaceful location just out of Ludham village with very easy access to a pub, butchers and convenience store amongst other amenities. The garden is beautiful to sit out in weather permitting and we made good use of the BBQ provided. The bedroom layouts offer a lot of flexibility and worked really well for our extended familyRead more group. Hide
