Great location for visiting the many great beaches on the Lizard. Close to the coastal path with stunning views across to Penzance and St Michael's Mount. A 20 minute walk to the nearest beach and a 5 minute walk to Mullion Cove. Each evening we sat in the small private field overlooking breathtaking views across the coastline. The actual accommoRead moredation was a little disappointing as there were cleanliness issues on arrival. It could be a great property but needs updating e.g. the shower is extremely small, there were issues with the double glazed windows / door. The double bedroom doesn't have a lot of room to walk round the bed, although there is a lot of wardrobe space. The parking space is round the back of the property and we found it awkward to park. Thankfully our neighbours left us enough space to be able to manoeuvre in/out. The cleaning needs to be addressed as it is not up to standard especially the toilet brush. Cornish Horizons response - thank you very much for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed the above mentioned aspects of this property. The owner has some updates planned for the 2026 season - reconfiguration of the bathroom/shower room and enlargement of the parking space so that guests will find it easier to park during their stay. This property is pushing 3* purely based on the location and is definitely not 4* in relation to the quality of decor and comfort. Cleanliness left much to be desired with a stale cigarette smell as you enter the property, cigarette butts left in an ash tray at the entrance and cigarette burn on the sofa. Stained bedding and uncomfortable beds. DirRead morety throughout with hair, crumbs, smeared mirrors, dirty fridge, I could go on. Extension leads plugged into extension leads to hang wires out the window for tacky lights. No space to store any of your food in the kitchen (although we didnt risk cooking in there anyway). Deeply disappointed, asked for a refund on the first night so we could find somewhere else to stay and this was refused by the owners. Ended up with 175 discount once we had returned home which is definitely not enough to make up for the state of the property. Cornish Horizons response; these issues were fully addressed direct with the owner and all have now been rectified with a new cleaner having been appointed going forward. Hide

With this cottage being in a lovely location overlooking Mullion Cove it was a shame that this was the worst place we have ever stayed in. If you in the slightest bit uncomfortable with dirt and grime then avoid this property. We spent over 4 hrs cleaning the property whilst looking after a 2 year old just it was habitable. The dog and cat hair wasRead more horrendous and was months, if not years of build up. Spiders webs in every room, sand, skin and finger nails under all the cushions, the stench of stale cigarette smoke in the main bedroom, hair in the beds, broken front door, & taped up windows. We wanted to either move to another property or go home and cancel our holiday, Another place could not be found that was suitable, and anything else that was more expensive we were being told that we would have to foot the cost. So we were left with little choice other than stay. We used the cottage as a base but spent as much time away as possible, and really did not look coming back to it and sleeping in it. My partner had to sleep in the other room too as the smell of cigarettes was too over powering. This place requires some serious maintenance and a professional deep clean to remove the dirt and smell. Please check this has been done if you consider booking. Hide
