Morte Apartment enjoys spectacular views towards Lundy Island over Woolacombe Bay. The main living area is open plan, which maintains a light and airy feeling with a woodburner for the cooler seasons. French doors open on to a large patio perfect for al fresco dining with the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Two large bedrooms also enjoy the stunning views and share a family bathroom with a third bedroom. Morte takes pole position on top of the hillside in the idyllic village of Mortehoe and is an ideal holiday base for exploring everything North Devon has to offer. The accommodation is spot on for couples and families, but if you need space for a larger group, it can be booked together with Combesgate and Barricane.

Mortehoe is short walk away and has a choice of three pubs. It is a pretty stone village which earned a mention in the Domesday Book and has a village shop, tea rooms and a restaurant. There are many beaches close by including the award winning three-mile stretch of golden sands at Woolacombe, which is a healthy walk or a quick drive. Mortehoe Heritage Centre recounts the area's rich maritime history. Mortehoe is the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Just north of the village, and reached only on foot, is Rockham Beach lying at the base of the 100 foot cliff; an ideal location for a peaceful day on the sand. Another great beach nearby is Barricane Beach just on the outskirts of the village. It’s a sandy cove perfect for families with low ledges that are great for jumping off. There’s also the wonderful, but seasonal, Barricane Beach café, serving up the distinctly un-Devon flavours of Sri Lanka. Exmoor National Park is also within reach, as is Barnstaple, the shopping capital of North Devon

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and we love staying here- it truly is a home from home! The location and sea views are spectacular and its ideally placed for coastal walks and access to the amazing nearby beaches. We stayed out of season but enjoyed the peacefulness and serenity of the walks and surrounding areas. The prRead moreoperty is very well equipped and very comfortable. Everything you need for a self catering break is readily available and we really felt we could relax and enjoy our stay. The views from the bedrooms are breathtaking and waking up to such wonderful sea views was a highlight of our stay. The sunsets were equally spectacular. We are definitely coming back!! Hide

The views and location are outstanding and it would be hard to find somewhere with such an ideal position for the superb coastal walks nearby. Morte apartment is a very comfortable and spacious. I would definitely recommend it.

Great property and the views are stunning. Has all amenities, would benefit with a small grass patch outside for dog's nature calls. Care taker came in immediately to resolve TV not working
