Love Cottage sits in an enviable position almost as close as you can get to the picturesque bay without putting your toes in the water. It is one of three properties at Saltdene, Combe Martin, which includes the owners' home Ancient Thatch Cottage, a 16th Century Grade II Listed cottage, and Gardeners Cottage which is also available to let and sleeps two, along with Love Cottage.
The three properties sit in four and a half acres of stunning meadow and woodland, the grounds overlooking Combe Martin Bay. Newberry Beach is slightly smaller than Coombe Martin main beach and is a stone's throw from the bottom of the drive. This popular village oozes history and offers a good choice of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and shops, which are pretty much on the doorstep. The South West Coast Path runs past Saltdene with breathtaking walks and views along the dramatic Devon coast. A short drive takes you to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth linked by the famous funicular water powered cliff railway.
The cottage makes full use of all the available space with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The front door opens into the double bedroom which has an en-suite shower room. The other room is the kitchen, dining room and lounge. It opens out through a low door to a small decked patio with views of the meadow which overlooks Combe Martin Bay. Due to the cottage's coastal location, guests are advised to keep pets on a lead when enjoying outdoor space as part of the boundary is made up of sea cliffs. Up from Combe Martin beach is the well-known Grade II Listed Pack O’ Cards Inn and there is also a general store/post office in the village. Combe Martin is well known for its Wildlife and Dinosaur Park – a 28-acre attraction that encourages respect for the natural world. As well as lions, wolves, sea lions, monkeys, wallabies, exotic birds and more, the park is well known for its impressive life sized animatronic dinosaurs. Just a leisurely 30 minute drive away, you will discover the area’s three surfing resorts – Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde; while very close by is Exmoor National Park with the tallest tree in England
