If you like walking from your accommodation and dont want to drive all the time, this cottage is perfect as there are so many walks straight from the door. Britannia Inn not 2 minutes from cottage and menu is great. A convenience store is close too (15mins). All told a fabulous cottage and we recommend it completely. Also Elterwater is a lovely vilRead morelage to wander round. Hide

Fell View is an excellent cottage in Elterwater just a two minute walk from the excellent Britannia Pub. It has three good sized bedrooms with bathrooms. The water was hot, the heating good and the kitchen was well equipped generally. The kitchen can feel a bit tight when there are 5 or 6 of you in there, but the lounge is very large with a good diRead morening table, which we used for eating evening meals. We had a problem with rubbish collection, but the agents and owners are now well aware and hopefully that will be rectified in the future. 5 of us and two dogs had a fabulous time here, walking every day, we can thoroughly recommend Fell View and Elterwater, providing you appreciate that it is not Grasmere/Ambleside, much smaller and that bit more remote. Fell View is a lovely cottage sitting on a slightly elevated part of the village of Elterwater looking out over the common and less than a minute from the pub! Perfect.

We spent a lovely week here. The setting in Elterwater has everything you could want - wonderful walks right from the doorstep, pubs and caf in walking distance. The house benefits from parking (for 2 cars!), comfy beds, great showers and a little garden (well-enclosed for dogs) and parts have received TLC recently - paintwork looked fresh. Other pRead morearts could do with updating however and look a bit tired, the kitchen in particular. Hide
