With lovely far-reaching views, this cottage is a self-contained annexe to the owners' converted barn, about 5 miles east of Newtown and 2 miles or so to the nearest village of Kerry, which has a village shop and Post Office, and two pubs, serving good meals.
The Little Barn has open-plan living accommodation with limestone tiled floor, comprising a beautiful hand-made fitted kitchen, dining area, and lounge with woodburning stove, TV/DVD with FreeSat, WiFi, and French windows to the terrace. The kitchen area includes a Rangemaster double gas range cooker, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and boiler for the oil-fired central heating. Also on the ground floor is the bathroom with shower over the bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms: a double with en suite WC/basin and a twin bedroom, both with sloping ceilings and Velux windows.
The raised terrace, with garden furniture, overlooks the lovely gardens (shared with owners) which extend all around the property, and enjoys panoramic views over the valley and surrounding countryside. This is also a good choice for walkers (Kerry Ridgeway, Offa's Dyke and Severn Way nearby) and those seeking a peaceful, rural location, yet within easy reach of village and town facilities. Newtown has a leisure centre and golf course, historic Montgomery with its Castle ruins is 7 miles away, Welshpool 10 miles for Powis Castle (NT) with the Clive Museum and stunning Italianate gardens, Welshpool-Llanfair Light Railway and Powysland museum.
