Great Cottage in a central location with a pleasant outside seating area, great for dogs. Cobbles and steps could be tricky for anyone with mobility issues

Good position,very central and comfortable. Be careful of sloping ceiling upstairs. Toilet is downstairs so can be inconvenient if need to use the loo in the night.

Excellent location - right in the lovely, old-world bit of Whitby's east side. Yes, the steps leading up to the property are steep, as is the staircase leading to the main bedroom but if you have mobility issues then I would suggest Whitby isn't a great location to go to as it's steps & cobbles all over. I am a fairly unfit 50 yr-old and it was Read moreall fine for me. No issues with low ceiling height in main bedroom either (I am 5ft8ins). Kitchen is well quipped. Kids' room is sort of inset into the lounge (the way people put en-suites into a bedroom?) and as it was so small they didn't want the door shut... so we couldn't really watch tv or talk/play music in the evenings. If your kids are heavy sleepers - you're fine (ours aren't). Definitely better for smaller kids, I'd say - our eldest is 13 but already 5'11'' and struggled with the room size. Also, the lounge is *above* the neighbours' lounge - like a maisonette arrangement - and although they really weren't being noisy at all, we could hear almost every word they were saying. These are things to be aware of going in, rather than warnings, but it didn't really suit us and we'll be looking for something else next time. Fairly secluded little garden - gets plenty of sun.
